I dont know where else to post this. I have social anxiety and I think im also on the spectrum. Im really exhausted and depressed after university. Im starting work in 2 weeks. Its a job as a waitress. We dont get tips. Im so tired of working these shit ass summer jobs every year. Im mentally overworked and i tried to ask for less hours than 40 and they gave me 37.5 on my contract. Like what the fuck? Theyre just going to make me work the 40 regardless. Last summer when i was working i was absolutely deteriorating. We werent allowed to sit down. Cant be on your phone. Small break room which was actually a storage with 2 chairs. Boss constantly checking on us. I dont want to do this shit all over again. Same rules for this enstablishment, on top of it. My lunch break isnt…

I was fired Monday
I had spinal surgery scheduled in a month, no FMLA because they don’t meet the 50 employees rule. Everything about my surgery was sent to HR and they let me know it would be up to my boss and he said it was fine, I can work from home, etc. I had then asked my boss, who is out of office for a month, for accommodations like working more closely with a lead or being on a different team. I was denied. I saw that on the ADA page, I tried. A few weeks passed and I’m pulled into a conference room and told by the President that he just doesn’t see a place for me. I was there almost a year and a half, I never was in any trouble and to my knowledge had the highest production in the office. The whole office is doing bad. I don’t…

Minnesota almost passed a bill that would have given nurses a say in staffing, but they cut that out because Mayo Clinic didn't want it. Mayo is the largest employer in Minnesota, and they threatened to withhold $40 million (I think, could be billion) that they were going to put into the community. Mayo claimed that the passing of the original bill would hurt patients, without explaining why or how. Mayo has a huge shortage of nurses right now, and I know of nurses who have had to quit because they would go home sobbing because of how stressed and overworked they were. Mayo has done nothing to help their nurses and this just proves that they only care about money and don't care who they hurt to get it.
Job not paying sick leave
I work fast food in California, been full time over a year and never called out, until I went to the hospital early this month, and I couldn't make 2 shifts (15 hrs) When I got my check they hadn't used any of my 24 available pto hours, wondering what I should do?
Hey you guys, I’m not sure if this is the best place to post this but I need advice. How do you inform customers that they smell like cigarettes? I’m currently typing this standing across from a dude that reeks like weed and it’s really off putting and hard to breathe. I don’t mind a small whiff but I’m talking ODOR. and my nose is not even sensitive. Like the store stinks for at least 5 minutes after they leave. How do I politely protest this? It seems to happen 2-3 times a shift and kills my vibe every time. P.S: he is sitting 7 feet away and I can still smell him. Thanks.
a four-panel comic is entitled “new artists.” in the first frame, two humans are digging a hole while a robot holds a shotgun on them. the first human says, “this work feels pointless.” the second human says, “can't we program a robot to do this?” in the second frame, the robot says, “Quiet! the robots are busy discovering truth.” in the third frame, another robot approaches and asks the original robot, “can you check out this poem i wrote?” in the final frame, the humans look on in anger as the robots say, “hey man you're getting really good” and “thanks i'm grateful to have the time and resources to work on my art”
