I’m in the process of learning how to video edit. It’s the first thing I’ve actually found that I want to make into a career. However I still have a day job that I feel like is holding me back. I’m so drained from working all day I hardly get to work on my editing skills. My mental health is just continuously deteriorating from having to do this thing I don’t want to do anymore. Suicidal ideation has got to the point where I can’t stop thinking about it. I live with my dad so I am financially supported whether or not I work so working at this job just feels pointless. He covers all my expenses including health insurance and phone costs. People have told me it’s better to work while learning but idk if I can do it. What do I do? I want to quit. I feel…
And the WFH dance continues…
I started this job fully remote about 15 months ago, but it was never officially fully remote, it was just due to pandemic restrictions at the time. This employer is based 300km away from where I live. I never told them I would re-locate for the job. Restrictions were lifted, so then it was semi-officially at your manager's discretion while they worked out a policy. Now the policy is apparently officially going to be 2 days per week. OK. It will be interesting to see if it is enforced with me given that I live 300km away, there are only 7 months left in the contract for this job (and they can ditch me anytime with enough legal notice so I'm not even guaranteed that), I'd only be going in 2 days/week even if I did live closer, and there is a housing crisis everywhere in my province so I…

Visiting the boss on a day off
Her secret? Be rich.
i just don’t appreciate disrespect
basically im always into the break room to have lunch. i didnt have enough money to go out for lunch so i made a pb and j. as im walking into the break room i see my boss sitting there eating mcdonald’s and i said “oh hey nice mcdonalds” and he said “yeah well i cant be hungry thank you”. so i obviously was like “so youre gonna get the whole office mcdonalds right?” and he looks at me confused and said “what? why would i?” and then continued to sit in front of me and eat his mcdonalds while i ate my pb and j and he didnt say a word. its just the disrespect of my boss not taking into consideration the whole office when thinking of his own personal needs. my co workers acted like the didnt care my work friend said that i needed “help” when…
Help calculating revenue
I would like to figure out approximately how much revenue the business I work for brings in each year. They often boast about record profits but won’t give a number. I work for a small local company. Any advice would be appreciated
The career and job as a lifestyle thing…what even are we doing? Home doesn't show up at work. I'm ready for work to stop showing up at home.
