I honestly don't know why this happened. I showed up EARLY, took down notes (my notebook has 10-15 pages of notes), I still asked questions if I was unsure of something, and I made some rookie mistakes but … I'm only 3 weeks in. I always asked the higher ups for practice and to evaluate my performance but they never did. They treated me like a fucking baby. My “trainer” was literally a different coworker who was also new (1 month in) but she learned things a bit quick and she wasn't confident in some of her answers. The higher ups also trained me too but they were mostly busy doing their own computer stuff. It shattered my ego and I keep thinking I'm going to get fired from every job for being slow/stupid Today I was sick. I texted my manager this, and she told me to stay home…

I fell down the stairs in the beginning of April which resulted in me breaking my ankle and needing surgery. I can't return back to work until I'm walking again which is doctors orders. We're given 16 unpaid vacation days which I'm now finding out today that they've used them towards my time off being injured and I can't take time off anymore for the entire year. don't qualify for FMLA because I haven't been there 12 months. They won't fire me, which at this point I want because then I can at least get unemployment. They told me they would hold my job for me but while I've been looking for jobs I saw my position on indeed. There's no reason I couldn't have been working from home. Everything I do is on the computer, my co-worker who holds basically the same position as me works from home on…
I can't think of a single industry that hasn't been abused by the ownership class in the United States. And everywhere I turn, a new group in some industry is either unionizing, or striking. And while it's a step in the right direction, it's well past time we get together and make a more powerful show of our voices.
Hello, So here we go 🤦️ okay so I just got a new job and I left my last job due to it being a call center. Luckily this job there’s no phone calls however the micromanaging is going to be an issue I see . I don’t like working in an environment where’s there’s so many managers and sups trynna train you and then someone else comes in and tells you to do it another way. I had this happened today so I been in training for about a week and just had a sup or whatever teach me their way and tell me to do it that way when I learned it another way. Keep in mind just got told the way this sup wants it down and because I wasn’t moving fast enough it became an issue lol like I just learned your way wth!!! I’m tired…
Disclaimer: English is my first language and I'm not on mobile, I'm just a bad writer smh For context, I (21f) am a barista at a local coffee shop chain. There are 3 locations in my city, and one about an hour's drive away. Right now, I am paid $9.50/hr plus tips. I've been working at this shop for nearly a year now, and I learned one of the new hires was getting $12.50/hr. Naturally, I set up a meeting with the person who oversees pay and all of the locations in my city. This person, who we will call Isabella, does not work at my store, but instead at the main store downtown. The meeting went decently well, and I was offered $12 after an evaluation with my manager, and $13 after a month of “good performance”. Now for the actual story: Today, I was talking to one…
