I am considered her assistant, however technically the boss of the whole office oversees my time off/etc. And, how is it different if I’m physically in the office and nothing comes in versus wfh? I don’t intend to argue with her, I try to minimize our interactions as best I can, I’m really just curious if this is okay to say. She does not oversee my time sheets either.
I tend to avoid these listings bc I feel like they’re really pushing for people to be super outgoing and more involved in the social dynamics of the workplace than necessary. If I’m hired to do a job, I will do my job well and be respectful of everyone but I’d prefer to keep to myself. I don’t want to feel like I HAVE to be extra friendly with people in order to be a team player bc the social component is more important than the work I’m doing. Some of us are just quiet and prefer to keep to ourselves.

I was recently denied a rental application because of bad credit. I've been better about it the last several years, so it was surprising. I requested a report from one of the agencies and was shocked to see a bunch of old bills still affecting my score. Some older than the touted seven years ago. I realized there was a pattern. Mostly due to being chronically underpaid and having health insurance that has gotten more and more Dickensian over the decades. Expensive plans that require big out of pocket contributions. So I have been working at this subway for about 5 months give or take and things have been going pretty well without too many problems. This is my first part time job and people tip pretty well so it’s not too bad. But anyways, my boss works a lot in the store himself and recently my boss has been diving in the trash to find small bits of unwanted food to complain to us (my coworker and I) about. This morning he sent me a text about how we threw away a single slice of turkey and enough avocado for one scoop. I remember throwing these away because one, the turkey was one he sliced himself and it was literally just a slab of meat, not thin like the others, and no one wanted it in their sandwich. I’ve never had to state my pronouns, nor have ever had to ask someone’s pronouns in any situation. Now, their automatically in my email signature. Would I be rocking the boat if I asked why they’re needed in my email and whether or not I can remove them? I respect everyone’s choice and really don’t want to be offensive but I’m just trying to either get with the times or see what’s acceptable. Anyone else gone through this these days?
This isn't sustainable and I am at my wits end trying to figure something out. I became a single parent in January because my 42 year old husband decided he didn't want to be a father anymore. Leaving behind me and our 4 year old daughter. I have never worked before because we got married shortly after my 18th birthday, and I've been a stay at home parent ever since I gave birth.
