I started a new job
Just finished my first week at a new job. Probably the best place I've worked so far, decent pay, lots of growth opportunities, lots of benefits. However, the employees are so lazy it's driving me nuts. We start work at 7, first break at 9, lunch at 12, end at 330. Everyone stops work and just stands around talking at 845, 1130, and 3. I'm losing my mind with it. I'm not what you'd call a social butterfly, I don't like chit chatting, so this gap of time between stopping work and leaving is rough for me. Does anyone else struggle with stuff like this or am I just a weirdo?
Recruiters need to do better.
Calling me back after my interview, or at the very least shooting me a small text informing me of my not being selected for the position is so much more preferred than ghosting me. Also, it shouldn’t take more than one interview to assess a candidate’s suitability for a part-time position. They generally have a high turnover rate; why should much time and effort be wasted on the hiring/selection process? I’m a young man who wants to work to prove himself and earn enough to live comfortably, but recruiters are apparently happy with leaving us on read and/or not bothering to follow up. Christ’s chin, it shouldn’t be this difficult. Rant over. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
Calling out of work twice
Context: I work retail (bakery in a grocery store) and I'm in grad school I called out of my last shift 5 days ago due to a migraine. Come to find out after a doctor's visit, I'm sick (no covid or anything). I don't feel great. I'm supposed to work at 6am, and my first day back to school is Tuesday, which I absolutely need to go to. Do I call out for my second time in a row, or do I try to go to work and leave early if needed?
I feel like nobody mentions that when in school you get roughly three months of the year off. But when you’re an adult you’re expected to work year round with maybe like 2-3 weeks off. Completely absurd.

I finally get it…
I feel so trapped. I hate that they get everything and can break the rules, but when we try to, we get the government knocking on our door to pay our taxes, but they don't have to, keep our money with their government approved banks, but they don't have to. I want to see a rebellion. I want to participate in a rebellion. It physically hurts me, the stress has built up so much that my brain is pressing outwards on my skull, it hurts so much and I want them to understand, I want them to stop killing us and our planet.
