(United States post) I applied for triple-digits number of jobs in the last 4 months (unemployed) and tons of them require a LinkedIn link. Non-optional. LI insists on having your headshot, and a lack of headshot is considered strange there. It's going to indicate gender, race, age, at a glance, or at least allow the hiring manager to make assumptions about these things. Considering anti-discrimination hiring laws, how is this requirement not illegal?

I double majored in history and political science and made 32k/year at my high water mark for 70K in deb. Zoomers are seeing the bad ROI for these things, the years of articles stack ranking degrees by earnings potential, and are making rational choices, and now we're lamenting the decline in humanities degrees. We chose this. We literally designed the system to encourage this behavior and now we're all surprised pikachu about it. I can't even right now. Realizing my worth
I got my first customer service job in december, and it was full time. At first I was a little unsure of myself, but was good at the job irregardless. At the end of January, they terminated me and I was heartbroken. They fired me over people who made mistakes and costed money to the company. I didn’t accept it and came back part time once some people left. I started supervising and training new workers and somehow they ended up getting more hours than me. When I’m there, I’m constantly watching to stop them from making mistakes. Once they reduced my hours again, I stopped helping my coworkers. I stopped caring so much and realized I deserve better. I never thought I would actually post here after lurking for so long, but I would like some opinions on my current situation (I am in the US). I've worked at this particular place for a year now, and they only just recently started enforcing a policy where if you are hourly and don't meet 40 hours per week then the rest of it comes straight out of your PTO. Even though 32 hours is considered full time here. Essentially, no one was told any of this afaik and I looked at my past few stubs just to find that basically all of the PTO I had built up was gone.
