So my boss told us all about this software that’ll take paperwork and auto fill in documents(customs broker). All my coworkers seemed happy. Am i wrong in thinking this is bad? For two reasons: innovation yet again leading to loss of jobs(maybe not now but capitalism right?) and the fact none of my coworkers even realize this.

Now I’ve seen it all…instead of a normal interview (whatever that even is these days), my friend has to develop and pitch a full blown strategy for the next 13 months for the privilege of maybe working there Just another way to exploit workers. Don’t pay ‘‘em yet, possibly steal their ideas, and pit them against each other like a reality tv show. I told him to withdraw. I hope he does

No one can convince me that this corporate crap is just a bunch of high school misfits creating their own little dystopian mini society where they can finally shine. My job literally promoted a complete dumbass who looks like Thomas The Train in the face. This dummy sends multiple emails a day about common sense shit that, quite honestly, you wouldn’t even have been hired in the first place if you didn’t already know. She thinks she’s dropping jewels with her stupid emails. Mind you, she was a mediocre at best worker and her incessant emails are peppered with misspellings galore and comic sans font with multicolored backgrounds. AND THEY MADE HER A FUCKING MANAGER. I’m no spelling bee nazi, but damn. This dummy is forward-facing upper management clients and talks like her parents were siblings. Meanwhile, they passed over a really smart and competent coworker for the same position…

My boss suspended me claiming code of conduct was broken. They have no evidence of wrong doing from me and I sent an appeal to the write up to HR. It's been 6 weeks and it's still “pending”. I haven't got a different job or received unemployment. What's the best course of action? SEATTLE WA EDIT: Please note there was a second 3rd party investigation with the Port of Seattle which is why my boss suspended me for a made up reason. The investigation not only said I did nothing wrong but the Port said they weren't even going to give documentation to my company of any kind.

So I'm currently at a temp agency until I start my real job in a few weeks. It's just unloading shipping containers and stacking boxes on pallets in specific patterns according to item numbers. It's easy, but can be physically demanding. We're talking sore heels, an aching back, locked arms, and the occasional Charlie horse. So anyway, when starting, I got paid by the hour. You get paid every Friday. 2 weeks later, the pay changes to getting 200 USD per every container unloaded because “it works at our other location.” It sounds good until you realize that every container takes 8 hrs to unload, and you get 200 dollars if you unload it by yourself, but you split the 200 by the number of people helping you unload. One container took 4 people, so they split the 200 dollars 4 ways. I made 50 bucks that day… Now to…

Tired of sitting and listening to countless of shitty stories. We cannot let this happen anymore. The time for moaning and complaining is over. It's time for action. We cannot just sit here and watch ourselves lose every bit of dignity we have.
