Forgive me for sounding ignorant but it seems so unrealistic. I understand making the work environment more enjoyable and less restrictive. But the idea that id be able to live a full life and afford it without working seems silly. It makes me think of trust fund kids who live off their parents money. Is this really the goal of antiwork or am i missing something?

Two months ago my parents bought plane tickets to come visit me and my family. Once they found the flights and times that worked for them , I then put in my PTO request. Well, next week im due to take this vacation and it hasn't been approved. I asked about it and was told that someone already requested those dates and unless I find coverage the request will be denied….. Wtf do I do? My family's coming and my work is denning my request at the last possible moment. They said my parents should have scheduled there vacation around my PTO availability….. Loss of words .

Union benefits?

Massive layoffs
This might belong in shower of thought subreddit but I can’t help but think lately about how all these companies have made a point to be so inpersonable with their firings. People getting just emails, texts, or app messages telling them they are fired has become a norm. So what’s actually stopping someone with anarchistic intentions from hacking workplaces or posing as employers and just telling everyone they are layed off? So nobody will strike in solidarity anymore, that’s fine, just tell everyone they are fired and you got your strike for better wages.
He loved being at his office that much
I was watching Obama’s documentary last night “Working” on Netflix about people’s jobs and one person they followed was a housekeeper in a hotel. I was shocked when she said she made $4k a month. I’m not saying she doesn’t deserve it but here in the UK you’d be miles away from that. Is a really high paid job on US generally or is she very fortunate?
