I’m a student and this is my part time job at a local grocery store. I’ve been here for a month and a half. Never called in sick, always was on time and did my job. I texted him the day before at around 6PM, turns out he “doesn’t respond to messages” when he’s not at work, understandable. Key point about this situation: we’re critically understaffed, me and my boss are the only employees for our department. He can call someone in to replace one of us but hates when he has to replace me since I can just “be there” and because it costs him money (?). He started yelling at me in front of everyone else, saying that I don’t even have the decency to text him the day of my shift and that my sense of priority is messed up. Did I do something wrong or are…

Today was my first day as a leasing consultant and my managers are amazing. They gave me a company laptop and told me to leave it in the office at the end of the day. I said “so I don't need to check my work email at home or anything?” And my boss looked at me so seriously and said “absolutely not. Why would I ask you to do something like that? Work is Work. Home is home.” Fucking amazing

Today my boss said I’m not thankful for my job and that I expect praise and appreciation. I said that I hadn’t much praise over the course of the job. She said she thanks me frequently and is always advocating for me. I said I appreciate that but had these experiences otherwise. She said that it sounds like the praise will never be enough for me.

My manager keeps scheduling me for 10 or 12 hour shifts and it's really bothering me. And also asks me frequently if I can stay past my scheduled time at the last minute… The first couple times we're okay but it's starting to become a daily thing.

u/rayhollyx Just give it up man. You deleted your post, then posted another one on the sub. You continue to block people, even reporting users, and then you stealth edit your response to things like “chill out bro”, “so much salt”, “relax bro”, “broooo”… You literally asked for a censuses and actually you received lots of good constructive criticism. Most didn’t care that live with your mother at 38. It was your lack of personal accountability, willingness to accept that YOU need to put more effort into bettering YOUR life, and blaming everything and everyone else for your crappy situation. To every other OC resident out there at least making the effort to be a contributing member of society, hats off to you, and you got this!🤙
