I’m a bit high right now, so apologizes in advance lol. But as the title says, when I see the notification that my work schedule got posted, I’m overcome with a massive wave of anxiety. Idk what that says about me, but I think it might be a sign that my job has taken a massive toll on my mental health, even after only 2 months. I work at Starbucks and the amount of anxiety and stress I’ve got there even after the short time I’ve been there has made me almost afraid to look at my schedule. It’s gotten to the point where I need to hype myself up to look at the days I’m working. The anxiety of knowing what’s in store for me at work is awful. The weird thing is, idk what I don’t like about it. I like my coworkers, I enjoy making coffee, and…

I’m horrified – operant conditioning?
I’m changing careers and currently in a leadership course. I thought I was cynical, but …this course refers to operant conditioning techniques to get people to complete their tasks. The way we train animals to behave. Except when animals miss the mark while they’re learning, they don’t starve or lose access to healthcare. I am too old to be shocked, but here we are. What fresh hell have we built…?

Wife got fired in retaliation
So my wife just got fired from our job a little while ago for reporting harassment and bullying to HR. Shortly after she made the initial report, she went to her doctor to see if working from home would help her cope since she’s already been sent to the hospital twice due to workplace stress and anxiety. The employer denied her request for reasonable accommodation, despite having a doctor’s recommendation. Shortly after this, she started getting written up for the smallest of things. And in all my time there, I never once saw anyone get written up for anything. So that raised red flags. Shortly after, she was fired. We were told she could file for unemployment without issues, but just this week she got denied that as well. We have to assume our job said something to keep her from getting this. Now because of this, I’m stuck working…
This keeps getting removed as spam by Reddit — I'm just reposting as many people will now do READ AMERICA A warning for anyone working at or thinking about working at JPMorgan Chase & Co. A warning for anyone working at or thinking about working at JPMorgan Chase & Co. If you work at JPMorgan Chase & Co. or are thinking about working at JPMC, you need to know about their employee surveillance tool called WADU. WADU is an acronym for Workforce Activity Data Utility. Every employee at JPMC has a profile in the WADU database. I think everyone expects their employer to track them to some extent. It is pretty standard practice for employers to monitor and run analysis on things like building badge swipes and the amount of time spent connected when working from home. It has also become very common place for employers to record audio…

Nothing beats free labor am I right?!
Long story short, my boss blew off the time I was going to be able to leave work 3 times. Kept saying I can't do it because I have school. I ended up staying an extra hour after being given 2 different changes and I'm pissed. I don't want to go back, but I have 20 hours of paid sick time. I plan to call and say I have food poisoning to get this week off, then just ghost them. How do I do this?
