Happy Ending~
I wanted to share a little story about a workplace I've been working at for the past 5 months, and that I've finally decided to quit after my shift last night. I only took on this job because I needed some money to pay for my college expenses, and I was looking for a part time job during the semester. Most other places around me wouldn't hire me because of my part time availability, but this one did. It's a restaurant and I was hired on to-go, despite coming in for an interview for a serving position. But, again I needed money, so I decided to take the position for some cash. Now, on to-go you get minimum wage plus tips. There was also the issue of management not letting me be a server because they had so many different excuses. But that's not the main reason I quit (though…
They’re not even anonymous…

Worst job I’ve had
Long story short. I’ve been at this job for 2 months. Around my first month ending they fired the other girl I was working with. Before they had fired her I was having to go in & fix all of her mistakes. They would come & get after her pretty much every morning as soon as we clocked in. They just kept telling me I’m doing a wonderful job they never had someone catch on so fast. When they fired her it was around the 2nd day after they started coming telling me all throughout the day I’m doing things wrong. Which was weird because that was the way my manager told me to do the tasks. Remind you I had no training just going off of random things I was told & what I knew from my previous work history. They would tell me to it a different way…
How to use job offer as leverage?
I've been with my current job for close to 5 years now. I recently applied for a job with a 2 hour commute. They are willing to pay 25.50/hour. My current job is only 15 mins from my current place. Currently making around 17ish/hour. I've never been in this position before so wondering what is the best way to proceed.
Just found out that my last job is having such bad retention problems that they've taken to having the floor level employees post job openings on social media. Turns out that underpaying your workers, running your best employees ragged, and nepotism all lead to high turnover. Also the SEC has two fraud investigations open for them. Also they've been reported by multiple former employees for labor law violations at both the state and federal level. Also they're being audited by OSHA.
I accepted a job 2 weeks ago and I was blatantly lied to, they lied about the job description, working hours (the working hours ended up being from 5:30 AM to 7:30 PM is this even legal?????), listed a job as remote and of course, I now have to go to the office 5 days a week, How bad will I look?
