I decided to quit my minimum wage job with nothing lined up, because it was just mentally draining. The job isn't hard, but with new management It feels worse that it was before. (Going from a hands off management to strict hands on by the book management) The job offers no benefits to my future career, the people I have no real attachment to, and it's become more restricted in what freedoms we have with standing at the front desk our whole shift. (Our new manager checks the cameras in the daily for example) As I finish out my last two weeks, I'm wondering if I'm making the right choice because of the lack of income I'll have. I live with family for now so I won't be homeless or starving but my family also has negative ways that can bring a person down when they make choices that sound…

a third shift coworker screamed at me, twice. The first time in front of a customer i was helping, the second in front of several coworkers and customers. Why? Because i brought a cart of returns (stuff that doesnt belong in my area) up to customer service, for it to be organized into the bins of the areas they belong in. I bring my bin from the front and put my stuff away daily. In the past ive tried to put the returns i collect away, but get yelled at for “wandering” There is no winning here. She sat there screaming about how management will know, but shit, even if they did do something, how is it somehow ok for her to scream across a store at me? Just incredibly frustrating.

“Just sharing a little positivity on such a negative sub te he”, “just showing that not all bosses are raging assholes about days off” This is all, at best, off topic, but in actuality, it erodes the political currents this sub is supposedly designed to promote. Every such post reduces turnout at a strike or a protest or just convinces someone not to speak up at work because 'it isnt that bad'. The number of posts in here i've seen about “it took me so long to realise that *intensely abusive act by a boss* wasnt acceptable” or “I hope your protest goes well but my workplace is nice so I wont join” tracks back to trends like this for showing that “not every boss is a bad one” or “just injecting some positivity”. Dont harass any of the posters, they probably genuinely believe they're helping keep morale up, rather…

“Take honest stock of middle management need and attitude. Most of the reports directly under my department's head left as a direct result of her dictatorship.” “Not as special of a place as they market it to be. It is all talk. Some leadership don't live by the core values of the hospital. There are bad apples that create a toxic work environment. Focused on the past rather than moving towards the 21st century. Work from home is not encouraged except for a few departments. Main Campus has a poor work environment. Younger staff are not sticking around.” “Horrible culture, employees are only friendly and engaging with patients, not with each other.” And I'm like say no more I already feel enough cortisol and stress from this alone. These little slices of hell just go on being hell on earth until the building is demolished. I'm convinced.

Sometimes we need some entertainment that makes sense. I really loved this show and it's overall message on capitalism. Any other fans or other entertainment with an antiwork message?
