I live in a city that is hot with the KIA BOYZ and our ignition was ripped out. Car is in the shop now but we were told we could work from home while we waited. Suddenly, they claim they have no work and are FORCING me to take VTO the rest of the day and the rest of the week. Is this legal? For context, the offices are in Jersey. We have to pay out of pocket for all these car costs and now they wanna take three days of pay away from me on the same paycheck i have to pay rent with.

4 on 4 off vs. 5 on 5 off
Hi guys I’m struggling to choose from 4 on 4 off vs. 5 on 5 off job offer both are kind of similar roles, which one should be preferred, considering I need more working hours per month… Need suggestions
Asking because my boss has repeatedly assigned me shifts within a nine-hour window without a text or call regarding the change. I wake up to a notification from our work app telling me, “A shift you have starts in an hour.” Or even worse, “you have missed clocking in for your shift,” when she decides my work day starts at 6 am. I'm getting really frustrated with her lack of scheduling ability and how difficult it is to have a life when my day could change at any minute. I know I'm not the only one affected by her lack of planning, and I am aware that she is a new business owner, but I feel like a 24-hour notice is not an unreasonable request. I've tried looking up laws about this in Montana, but I can't find anything that eludes to rules or requirements regarding scheduling here.
Am I making the right call ?
So today I am putting in my two weeks at an ok paying job for a few reasons. This all started when I was told that I was on my way to becoming a VP . Fast forward a few months and the company gives the position to an outside hire. The cherry on top was that I had to train her. I essentially run the frontline operations for this company across 3 departments. However, the other thing that is holding me back is a certain employee complaining about me to my CEO about helping other departments instead of doing his work for him. This results in my bosses telling me to stay in my lane and not help those other departments as much. This has happened twice now. I am about to accept a position with similar pay , no PTO , but they have medical benefits. It’s more…
Request accommodation in help filling it out. My eyesight isn't the best on paper applications hence why people like services like monster or indeed. Anyway, their reaction to this ask will tell you everything you need to know about how it will be to work there.
I (26F) work as a legal assistant for my county’s PD. When I started, things appeared to go smoothly. But then we hire some new people and 1 of them gets on my constant nerves and it’s like suddenly everyone became on one. This coworker constantly picks on me saying im a nerd because I like geeky stuff. Sorry I have a more interesting life than you with your kids. I don’t have kids so I have all the time and money in the world to spend on myself. I travel often too. She’s just a bitter person who lost joy in life for some reason. Back to my supervisor who I can’t stand anymore. I requested time off in December for Christmas at least one day. It was like pulling teeth when I got that day approved because the supervisor tried to deny my request then approved it only…
Last minute meeting with HR + manager after discussing my performance last week with no plans on helping me+lies. Please advise on what can be done while I still have access to their system Thanks PS- This company has been awful and it’s been very taxing on my mental health
Honestly I just need to vent anywhere. I'm in EU, but it shouldn't chang anything. I'm a high functioning neurodivergent: I can mask and pass as a NT easily, but I always struggle with communicating and myself in general due to the 'tism. Think of it as being extremely introverted in my case. It doesn't help my current job is actively making me wish I was dead on a scale of 8 from that scale from 1-10. I am in therapy and the solution so far has been “you're fine, let's schedule a meeting in a month while you find new a new job” so that's what I'm doing. Anyway, 80+ applications and 35 known rejections in I finally landed an interview from another company in a field I'm very passionate about (think cybersecurity; SOC stuff so documenation, logging, not front-office stuff). They were looking for someone with little to…
