I don’t know if this counts. I actually liked my job and the people I worked with. But after 30 years and a health issue that nearly killed me, I decided it was time to cut back on the workload So I went to the boss and proposed cutting my hours back to 4 days a week. I would take a commensurate pay cut and would work for a few more years. But not on Fridays. At first they thought it would work but after about three months of “we haven’t gotten approval from corporate” I said I needed a decision. They said no. So I said I was going to retire. Then they decided they could do it. But that offer had expired as far as I was concerned. They asked me to stay six months to train someone. I agreed. But during that time I didn’t work any…

The best employees will have plenty of options, so why do organizations constantly make these applicants go through 10 rounds of interviews before telling them their salary range/whether or not they're a good fit? Some good tips in this article like this one about how your hiring process is turning people away: https://brightmatterhr.com/knowledge-centre/blogs/this-is-why-your-hiring-process-is-turning-candidates-away/
This just happened so I'm still worked up about it, I make the steaks and grill the bacon in a burger restaurant, which I cook in the same way since I started working there 4 months ago. My boss examined my bacon today and screamed for 30 minutes at me because it wasn't cooked enough. He said I needed more training from my manager, that it's inadmissible and that “all of the pigs are dead for nothing because of me” (this was super weird) and made a big scene in front of everyone. This isn't the first time my boss has yelled at someone in the kitchen. Three people have already quit because of his yelling. I was also yelled at once before this because I wasn't fast enough. When he came in the kitchen he started screaming at my colleague because she put too many fries in the fryer,…
I don’t understand office work.
I work in healthcare and have recently taken on a new job with a government body in my country. The job means I transcend one specific area as it is largely to do with training and exercising for the entire geographical area (a large area with a large population). I do not understand what I am seeing. People openly don’t work. If they work from home, they are realistically doing nothing. This is known by team leaders and managers and yet it’s deemed acceptable. I am very pro worker. I am a member of two unions. I believe that we should be moving to a 4 day week, and that our current system is appalling and weighted heavily against workers. But what I am seeing also makes me upset. People aren’t working, and trying to get anything worthwhile or meaningful done is insanely hard. This government agency is to do…

Have ChatGPT put together a cohesive, comprehendible, and straightforward paragraph, only to have your boss correct it into something that is broke grammar, uses the wrong terms, and makes absolutely no sense.
A quick rant.
I work construction and had a back injury at work back in 3-22, and got a workman's comp claim going. It took months to get any help- Dr visits, physical therapy, MRI, epidural, etc. Only 1 month ago I finally got the epidural and a little relief from the pain. But not nearly enough to make walking, sitting or standing any easier. I received a letter from my company saying I need to come back to work, and after taking to my lawyer, they said I have to or lose the workman's comp medical coverage. I can't walk without a cane, and even with one, for only 30-45 min before I'm shaking and nearly in tears from the pain. It takes almost 2 hours of ice and laying down for the pain and spasms to calm enough to do anything else. I know that going back to work now is…
Like many 20 somethings I live with my parents because I can't afford to move out. I work part time at a job that refuses me full-time hours because they're incredibly cheap and give me the runaround. I'm also only making 10.00 an hour and barely bringing home 500 every other week. My parents aren't understanding my need to bring in more money and tell me “income is income. Keep working hard!” In reality this job makes me think about breaking bones to get the fuck away from the toxic people and bullshit I put up with. It's frustrating because I can't just quit. I can't voice my opinions to my parents because then I'm met with “well get used to it, you cant quit when things are rough. Welcome to life.” I get all jobs have issues and there's never going to be a “perfect” job where I'm happy…
