One thing that keeps me comfortable is that I can quit a job and even if I need to move back home with my parents temporarily I'm just worrying about myself. But if I have a family or partner, I need to stay in that soul sucking, mentally exhausting, emotionally draining job. That shit scares me

We should buy Jack in the Box
But really, we should. Jack in the Box has a market cap of 1.8Billion. A typical buyout needs around 20-30% over the market cap for corporations to agree so the price would be 2.34 Billion. r/antiwork has 2.5 million users so we would all need to throw in 1000$ to have 2.5 Billion. Then we can turn it into the best place to work that has a national footprint.
You should be grateful for a job
Why? I don't like what I do, it doesn't pay a living wage, and my employer makes a lot of money that they will never share for a raise unless I go to another company and then all of a sudden they have money for a raise. I fucking hate this existence
I’m seeing news articles here and there saying that US congress is talking about shortening the official work week to four days. At first I was excited about it, but I’m thinking— I’m paid by the hour. I don’t see anything in there answering this question: is this just giving businesses an excuse to get away with paying full time employees for only 32 hours of work? If so, my pay would decrease significantly and I’d probably have to get a second, part time job. I have trouble believing the fed would float an idea that actually benefited us honestly. Have any of you looked into it? Thanks!
Think about that one….All Rise
Nobody earns a billion dollars
Talk to coworkers about wages.
I did. Even had my bosses boss make a comment about how we shouldn’t, till I emailed him the fact it’s federally protected speech. I asked for a raise after gather all the info and got an extra 8 bucks an hour. Always be willing to stand up for yourself cause nobody else will.
2 weeks into my new Chef Job
I had just worked 5 10 hour days on one of the busiest weekends of the year and my manager tried to put me on today even the head chef said he didn't need me at all, I feel I was fair and respectful with my messages, but you can be the judge of that. I will not be worked like a slave.
