Real question: How is it possible they so many wealthy people are just so miserable? Like if I had some of the wealth that some of these people have, and I’m not talking like billionaire status or something – I’m talking just like normal wealthy, I would be so happy. You’re rich! Be fucking happy!

(Rant) Got fired without notice abroad
I'm an Indian working in South Korean startup. First of all, the work culture is toxic beyond expectations. One cannot leave the seat before the big boss leaves. I once broke my finger and sent a pic that I can't work, I was told to complete the work by the weekend somehow with a few laughing emojis. When I joined the company, I was promised a lot of things which didn't turn out to be true as they fired my then boss. After working for one year like a mule, where they would even make fun of my lack of Korean language finally they hired a new person above me and she immediately told me to pack up my things, did not give me any 30 day notice or explanation of why she doesn't want me to work there. Since its a startup, we would directly report to the CEO…
Jobs pay poorly and treat us terribly but we need to make it convenient for them to replace us? How is that even a practice anyone embraces.
I love my job, love my bosses, but this is the second time I've found myself dealing with a crazy person at work (Director-level employee, I'm the EA to the CEO). Both female, both same age demographic. Anybody else had this? Why are women so awful at work?? So anyhow, I'm kinda thinking it's “Fuck this Shit O'Clock” but want some feedback before I submit my notice. Here's a little snapshot of what I deal with on the daily: Ridiculous One-upping / Name Dropping A hotel is suggested – oh, yes, she's been there, many times, OR tells leadership it sucks [if same hotel is suggested by ME] Vegas? Of course she has worked that show a “million times” (calls to ask me how to get somewhere, goofs on scheduled meetings) Fancy exclusive events? Oh yes, she hits them all (will interrupt work day sending leadership team images of her…
Boss is ignoring me, it’s been 1.5 weeks
Curious to see what others think, I’ll try to make this as concise as possible. I work as a department of one at a small company of less than 50 people globally. I work from home, traveling multiple hours to go to the office once or twice a month at the request of my boss. Mileage and lodging is paid for during this. I’ve been work here 4 years. The ceo is my direct manager, and he’s misogynistic and believe millennials (me) and gen Z are all lazy. He’s voiced this plenty of times. I think his distaste for these generations plays a part in this. He’s voiced this opinion multiple times. I keep my head down and do my work and have never received negative feedback. I got my last raise is 2021, which still put my pay below the average, but my schedule lets me be flexible and…
Waiving my lunch break
Just wanted to celebrate that I was able to negotiate to waive my meal break so that I am not wasting 2.5 hours-per-week of my time I work an office job, with a wavering work load, and I haven't taken more than 15 minutes to eat since I was fourteen years old.
I hate my job. I hate my bosses. I even hate my industry. I have no problem moving onto something very new and starting over but I’m so burnt out from my work day, I have nothing left for me. Do you have any practical tips on how to fix this burnout?
