3 weeks in a row of OT with no notice or heads up, i already threw my fit (to myself ofc) over it. The thing is, if you don’t want to do the OT on a shift, we are required to provide a “valid” excuse as to why we can’t do it. Apart from pure fatigue, I’ve got nothing, can anyone tell me which “valid” excuses could work in this scenario? edit: “w/“ not “w!” in title
Scoop: Starbucks has quietly restarted its stock buyback program, aimed at enriching investors.Last April, Schultz paused the buybacks so Starbucks could “invest in workers.”They’ve already spent $191m in 2023 and want to send $20 billion by 2025.https://t.co/IkjRrIM7b4— More Perfect Union (@MorePerfectUS) February 24, 2023
My supervisor, her boss, and the boss's boss want everyone to provide a photo of themselves for an organizational chart. They haven't told me anything more what it'll be used for, who has access to it, where it will be posted, how long they'll keep it, etc. I don't really want to, do I have to? What's an excuse I can use? Can I claim my new found religion doesn't allow taking photographs of myself? Or maybe there was a threat on my life in the past and I was advised by the FBI to not post pictures of myself online? I do have my photo on FB and LinkedIn.
Hello there is a company looking for Canadian Carpenters to move to New Zealand and other then asking r/NewZealand I was curious if anyone has had any experience moving countries for a job, not sure if I should name the company too and ask if anyone has bad experience just a first experience for me thank you in advance.
So I recently got hired for a new Hotel gig. I don't want to name the brand since after researching, the brand does check social media frequently, and I don't want to lose my job when I just got hired, but I have a problem. I got this job through a certain rehab program so I don't have much in the way of support. I had a job previously but that fell through due to how they were run, so I got this job through the program and I passed the interview and all other requirements and got hired. When I got hired, I asked all relevant questions and had two days of training in the colors they wanted, White collared button down, Black dress pants, and Black shoes. However, now I am being told since my training is now over, I have to buy their uniform with their logo…

I was fired from my job of five years last week which was soul crushing. I applied for a new job with a company called Acosta. They hired me on full time. I received my job offer, pay, hours, and start date for March 6th which I signed. I get a call this morning informing me that the offer for full time was a mistake. She was very apologetic and tried to make it work by finding me another full time position at another store but couldn't. I explained that I couldn't work 15 hours a week and hung up. I hate at will employment states, and everything feels so hopeless. They shouldn't be allowed to do that.
