Honest question. I've been lurking the comments and I feel like you guys are 90% of the way to realizing that we are on the threshold of global enslavement. The injustices you describe are part in parcel with the WEF/UN agenda to immiserate the general population in order to make us dependent enough to accept digital surveillance and denigrating work/life conditions. CBDCs and 15 minute cities contribute to this. You are being treated like a slave because they view you as a slave. Prove you're not. If you're one of those “what's your source” people just look up MEP Christine Anderson and listen to her commentary. Surely a member of European parliament is high enough pedigree to be valid. Viewing her will also lead you to other voices resonating with that view point. There is no political solution, there is no social solution, we must simply assert our personally autonomy…
When boomers give you their shitty career advice, realize, what they are really telling you is stop doing the same thing as everyone else. In their day, an applicant would show up in person, politely ask if they were hiring, fill out an application, kiss the managers ass. If they wanted to get noticed they had to make a good impression. Firm handshake, making a case verbally for why they should be hired. We know that's not how it works these days. But the advice has a few grains of truth. What they are really saying is be disruptive. Be different. Be annoying. Pink resumes, LinkedIn stalking, cold calling, heck, if you really want the job, door dash them a burrito. It's possible that someday job hunting won't suck but I doubt it. Enjoy this short period where the applicants hold the power. As a 39 year old, it's a…
I’ve previously been a graduate student and worked as a research assistant after obtaining my degree in three majors and a graduate degree in chemistry. I’ve studied for years and now got a job in a small company that develops diagnostic devices. I’ve been introduced by higher up people in emails to others as “young student” even though my role in the company is a research chemist and I work full time and I have already passed the stage of student. There are people in the company who don’t even have graduate degrees and no one refers to them in that manner. I put in a lot into this job, I’m expected to work after hours without pay and overall the work is very stressful since I’m the only chemist in the company and they want a lot of chemistry done. It makes me feel inferior since people will question…

Update From My Mental Breakdown Post
Hi, Thank you for the kind words everyone. I have decided to look for another job. I have been applying all weekend. I didn't write the rebuttal due to me feeling unsafe with HR, but I am documenting every task I am given outside of my job description. I found two references I can use. I worked closely with these two people for two years now. I have decided that I will not be taken advantage of by this job and will quickly be leaving.I doubt they will be able to fill my position quickly since I did the job of four different people but they will be okay. Mentally, I am in a better place and I am ready to move on to somewhere else.
I make $21/hr as an entry level office manager. Started at $19 a year ago but was given a raise when they assigned another location to me. I now also do some of an additional locations duties, as well as training for all new operations associates. I also split receptionist duties between two locations. Haven’t seen a raise for any of that yet though. If I’m being honest I’m feeling a little burnt out and over it lately. Today there was an argument between an exempt employee who works only on commission, and the manager who makes a salary + commission. The employee hits 50-60 hours per week, but had a bad month. The manager keeps pretty strictly to 40 hours a week. The employee was complaining about how difficult it is to make sales right now, and how the manager doesn’t understand how frustrating it is because she’s paid…
