I work at a small school as a co-teacher for 1st grade. When signing my offer letter, it didn’t mention that I would be subbing when another teacher is out. When the year started, they even had me covering two other teachers 30 minute breaks until I said something and now only cover one. Yesterday I was covering for a teacher and I had already stated in an email that I could only cover until 10:30 because our class had a busy day ahead. At 11, I texted my boss asking when the teacher is coming to cover. She said she fell into mud and had to go change… The teacher ended up getting there at 11:45 and my boss sees me and goes in for a hug. She tells me “Thank you so much for your flexibility this year, you’re amazing. Please don’t ever leave me. I mean it.”…

So my wife has been putting in applications for a second job. She knows what's she's looking for and the pay range as well. So she gets a text from a company that says the following: “My name is So And So from ABC company. The pay rate for this position is $13.50/hr. Tell us why we should hire you. ” My wife reply: “You shouldn't.” The person then says after a long pause: “So you're no longer interested in the position?” My Wife: “Not at the rate of $13.50. That's not worth my time” Funny thing is, if the person hadn't come at her like that, she would have just politely declined. Her response though was glorious!!!

About 20 years ago I worked for an electrical parts supply house. We sold material to industrial companies around South East Michigan. Ford motor Company was our largest customer. They spent about $200,000 per month with us. Business was good. The company hired some new young management. These guys came in and we're going to make the place as efficient as possible, and cut off some dead weight. Well, they made some changes. They laid off 4 people that they said were unneeded. For some reason unknown to them, the Ford business went from $200k to zero. So the new management called an emergency meeting to try to figure out the Ford problem. They asked the group why the Ford business was down. Someone raised their hand and told them that the reason we haven't seen any purchase orders from Ford was because they laid off the guy who used…

My job cut my shifts down due to a “lull” in business and I was pinched for a couple paycheques and my car payment was coming up so I transferred out of what little savings I have to the account where the payment withdraws only leaving me 30$ for the rest of the week – or so I thought and was doable. I transferred the wrong amount, I was under by $0.01 CAD – the bank charged me a 48$ fee for insufficient funds for the withdrawal and returned the money minus the 48$ (automatic charges done by a computer ffs). 4 hours later after crying on the phone to the second manager I spoke to they said they would return it this “once” because I have never had the charge before on my account and have always had adequate funds – go to manually pay the car payment -…
