Im not sure if i should be posting this here so forgive me …I just graduated I have a degree in marketing ( with a concentration of strategic marketing) and I've only worked in fast food mainly. I'm 22 and right now ya girl is working at Hardee's and I'm so fucking done !!! I'm tired of these damn food jobs mainly cause management always ends up being shitty they always make me do their work and they get fucking paid more which is bs ( nothing fucking new under the sun) anyways I'm ready to look into getting certificates to increase my chances of getting hired ( which is horseshit cause 4 years of college should be fucking enough – still in debt btw :*) i have 0 experience no internships freaking nada. What should I do? How can I just find a remote job or opportunities ? Like…

Have a particular person who tried to be “best friends” with the bosses. Likes to add them on FB talk about how pretty my bosses hair looks like. Tries to be friend her children. To my guy boss she does some ass kissing as well. Seems to love gossip and know about personal life of people. My other co worker was getting divorced. This employee basically gave her tips on taking screen shots and saving all communication with her soon to be ex on a cloud. She also was coaching her on how to look up personal details on new guys she may be dating. In addition, she is a karen. She refuses to help others, talks about how to legslly screw over landlords that give her a hard time. Fights every speeding ticket in court. Just overall, sounds like a person who nobody really likes.
I’m so tired of wasting my time while the companies could give a fuck about me. I went through the whole process: phone interview, in person interview with manager, in person interview with boss. Now, I can handle a rejection, but they literally ghosted me. My bf suggested having me call them to check (bless his heart), but I knew what was coming after a week. I just feel like they were so cold to me during the call, and quickly hung up. Why is it that they don’t think we’re worth even a fucking email? I honestly feel useless. My bf has been supportive, but I have yet to tell him about what they said. Who knows? He might leave me if I can’t get a better job, and I won’t blame him for it. Thanks for reading if you’ve made it this far, I needed to vent a…
I find this hilarious
At work right now
Just wanted to vent. I’ve been in a management position for the past 7 years and just recently took an entry level in retail. I am two weeks in. The PIC(lead) has been on a high horse since doing computer training and cracking whips left and right, down talking employees for amusement rather than constructive criticism. Needless to say it’s a joke, but today is the first time he’s been on the floor in 4 days due to avoiding an expensive issue that arose with a customer. Not even ten minutes being back, he’s ranting on how he has no support due to not being able to find a simple object we use daily. He went on and on how he was going to fire someone he doesn’t care yada yada yada. It’s not much, but he actually does not have the authority to fire people. Adding to that, he…
Love the advice “if it's neither, quit.” This is absolutely true. But IMO it should always be BOTH. Let's stop with the notion that people learning their jobs deserve to be paid poorly (or not at all, as with some internships). If you're working, and that includes training in your role, you should be paid fairly. PERIOD. Expertise in a role should come at a premium for employers, let's stop pretending it should be the baseline for earning a living wage.
I have been at my job for nine months. When I started I was told I would receive a $2500 dollar sign on bonus. I was told it would be paid out partially at 3 months, 6 months and the final balance at a year. Well I never received any of the payments. I asked my manager about it around the 3, 6 and 9 month marks. Every time I was told he would look into it, but he never got back to me. Around the 7 month mark I got an email from HR with a copy of the paperwork that I would need to sign in order to collect the bonus. The HR person that emailed me, who’s name is Amy, is the top HR supervisor for the company. I thought “sweet, they must have just been late but they will pay me now”. Fast forward to this…
All my life, I've been sold the myth of starting from the bottom and working my way up, and the fact of the matter is it just doesn't work that way. Employers do not care about your Starbucks barista experience, or that you managed a grocery store. They want industry-specific experience and education. So when all these jobs can't find young workers, it's because they know the idea of a “dead-end” job is very real. I see older retail workers who can't switch into better-paying roles even as life piles more expenses and responsibilities on them. When restaurants are confused why they can't get workers even when they raise the wages, it's because the cat's out of the bag now. Young people know these “low-skill” jobs are a trap. Ironically they're often more difficult than many corporate roles, but that doesn't matter to the hiring manager. You still see this…
I’m convinced luxury is an illusion.
Just a bit under 7% of US households make over $200k a year. That's a household, which means usually a couple making that much combined. I often see things and ask myself “who can afford this?”. I don't think most people actually can. There are 109 million auto loans in the US. I honestly think used car prices have been artificially increased so you are pretty much FORCED to finance anymore. You can't even find a half-assed car for less than $6,000 anymore. Some dealerships don't even have anything on the lot for under $10k. But places make the things people buy, and sadly way too many people want more car or truck than they need. Soccer moms think they need a giant tank of an SUV for them and their 1 kid. Joe thinks he needs a 3/4 ton dually truck with leather interior and heated/cooled seats to haul…
Any block-chain devs in here?
I had been thinking that some sort of decentralized workers union would be a good idea. It could be a DAO of some sort. Someone steal the idea, or dm me if you want to collaborate 🤙
