Last year, I quit a job where I spent 70% of my salary on fuel and the rest on the lowest priced health insurance because public medicine is a joke here. Companies don't care about why you want the job unless it's licking their backside I quit the job because it was 2 hours drive both ways every day in bumper to bumper traffic. My mental health was shot, and my physical health suffered just as much, so I kept getting sick losing weight and not sleeping. The job itself wasn't stressful it was the 4 hours of my day going to driving and the constant stress of missing a call if someone contacts me to do something at 3 in the morning and I'm asleep like they did often. Since then I've sent out around about 500 applications heard back from a good chunk of them that I wasn't…

the number of people i know who are unaware that it is ILLEGAL for an organization to tell you discussing wage isn't allowed (regardless of the 'CULTURE'- gag me) and seem satisfied to 'accept their role' and even though they may be unhappy about their pay think that providing service is… some kind of privilege? MY FRIENDS. WE ARE BEING EXPLOITED AND IT IS OK TO SAY THAT. IT IS OK TO WANT MORE THAN WHAT YOU'RE TOLD IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU. REJECT INEQUITABLE PAY AND TELL THEM WHY. I'm leaving. I'm going back to the woods. If you need me no you don't.

I've had two corporate type jobs in my life. One in a call center and my current one in a warehouse and I absolutely hate how upper management and HR infantilize us. At my old job we were rewarded with stupid little trinkets we were expected to display on out desks that we could eventually turn in for Amazon gift cards. This week at my current job there's a pinewood derby, go carts in the parking lot and a scavenger hunt. It's all so insulting.

As an example, your healthcare system is always baffling me. I do not know all the details but i always hear story like ” oh yeah i broke my arm and paid 4k”. Or like , when you call day off and your boss are chasing you or being passive agressive trying to make you come either way. Jeez there's even “team cleaning day”. Me when I'm sick or put my holidays, I'm just being told enjoy or I hope you recover swiftly take care, and I have 80% of my salary guaranteed. From what I understood majority of job in USA is sick = no pay Good luck folks, and may you gain the rights to live normal life with a balance between work and recreation.
