If you saw my last post on this subreddit, you know my boss is an asshat. He recently started to question my workload and the workload of my coworkers because we are all stressed and burnt out. He tried framing this assignment as him trying to help us to see if he can help us better time manage things, but we've gone to him with requests and feeback before and keep getting told “You just have to work harder, that's what I do.” I had to block of my entire calendar to do this task today but I am going to write the most obnoxious and highly detailed essay just to piss him off. In grad school, I was notorious for overwriting and taking my time to “get to the point.” Who knew that fun little skill would come in handy today. To answer the two popular questions: 1. No,…
Don’t be afraid to take a leap
I quit a job 3 weeks ago where I was promised a contract but wasn't given it when the time was there. Really regretted having to quit but I wasn't going to stay somewhere where I wasn't valued. A few buildings away from my job. This man died at 1 am at 61 yrs old working at a place with multiple work place accidents in the past. This is my nightmare..I don't want to die at work.

Originally, I was hired purely as a warehouse guy, but I got quickly promoted by the shop foreman because I was the only person who gave a shit in the entire building. The owner of the company didn't want that because his son was supposed to have the position I ended up with (a machine operator), but he couldn't really argue with the foreman. As part of my “giving a shit” responsibilities, I was sent on First Aid and Workplace Health and Safety training. I was still loyal to my foreman, so I kinda looked to the other way on a lot of the violations (I was young and stupid) during my inspections. Still, I wrote everything down, but I never filed anything as a complaint. Then, a cold day in February came when my foreman quit so he…
