She works for a third party company that only comes to draw blood for blood work. I went in on Friday and she was an older lady. Been there for 17 years. So nice and sweet. We were talking and she was kinda upset cause her daughter had a rehearsal dinner on Saturday cause she was getting married. She asked her boss 3 months in advance to be off that Friday to drive the 8 hours to be there and they told her no. She said she had five weeks of vacation saved up but they couldn’t give her one day. 17 years she’s been working there. I told her she should have quit after they told her no. My company (global one) mandated us from fully remote to back to the office two times a week. The company is going fine, good profitability, good last few quarters, good growth. I am trying to rationalize why they are doing this and risking losing good talent. Do they really think it will improve productivity? Do they have contractual commitments keeping physical offices? Like towards government or local government, maybe to generate revenue from people going to work and spending their money downtown? They can't accept the fact that we may be getting our job done in fewer hours, and be sitting on our asses for the rest of the day? I too believe it's mostly about control, but it cannot only be this. What else is it then?

I work at an Ice cream shop and my boss have several problems with her psycho husband, he isn’t even allowed to go next to her but she don’t do anything because he is the father of her kids Anyway, that’s not the point, whenever she has a problem at her house she takes it on us, who is already making minimum wage and have to deal with rude people everyday. She starts screaming at us saying that we don’t do shit, that we need to be proactive, that nothing is clean when everything is shining. How am I supposed to do with someone like this? Like wtf, we already have so many problems at this place and you come here to make everything worse?
