Put in my two weeks and…
I just put in my two weeks on Thursday and just found out today that I might be put as non-rehireable because I don't have a second job lined up and told my manager that I was just needing a break. And… He took that as me giving up ? So no more going in early. No more staying late. No more coming in on my days off because they need help. He is effectively ruining my chances of future jobs if they call for a reference because he's upset that I'm quitting and it's pathetic and I was genuinely sad to find out.
A year ago today, I had my 10-year tenure terminated because my employer had a fundamental lack of understanding about people with invisible disabilities. (Translation: I was fired for being autistic after returning from a leave of absence for pseudo-related mental health reasons.) Strung me along for a two-month “investigation” for supposed misconduct claims. When they terminated me (of course, close to the end of the month so they wouldn't have to pay health benefits much longer), I enforced my rights to request my personnel file according to state law. They stalled on that for two months. After claiming that they never received my request, they “magically” overnighted me my entire personnel file after I filed a formal claim of violation with my state's labor board (including unreacted documents of the investigation I was not supposed to receive, but because they placed it in my personnel file, they were legally…
Tragic comedy
I’m a long-time r/antiwork member, and share the same frustrations as you guys in regards to deteriorating socioeconomic condition of the United States. Unfortunately, our growingly obsolete Constitution is simply incapable of handling issues like corporate lobbying, gerrymandering, and gun control. Like you, I’m sick of complaining and nothing actually getting done. That’s why I’m aiming for a realistic, material goal of ratifying a new Constitution by starting a liberal movement en masse to attempt to decide the presidency based on the promising us ratification. The subreddit is in it’s very very early days, but I hope it can become a discussion place for the kinds of values that should inform the new constitution, and the starting place for the next democratic revolution, and ACTUAL change. It’s here: r/New_Constitution with the tree background. Thanks
Stolen Vacation Time
So my workplace vacation policy is on an accrual system. And the pool of hours grows based on years worked. We work on 12 hour shifts and for a worker of 2-4 years you are to receive 10 days of vacation time, and the policy states 8 hours of vacation time is required for a day off. So 80 vacation hours a year accrued equals 10 days off. They changed the policy last October to be a mandatory 12 hours per vacation day but didn’t increase the accrual pool so now our 80 hours is only worth 6.67 days. I have to work 2 months to earn a day off. I’ve contacted the Plant Manager on the situation he said “the handbook will be changed to reflect the new policy” nothing has happened. The CEO himself came down for a Q&A with the “little people” and I asked him direct…
I guess the rest of the wage slaves in the world are just pieces of shit by this persons standards. This $350k high income, “successful career person…” More like posse of selfish fuckers making the wage of 10 people. Don’t you hate how corporate selfishness is labeled as “successful?”
