Manager said my work gave him a ‘boner’
Last year on a teams meeting, I showed a manager a new feature I had developed for a PC tool. He was sat next to a female manager and said: “Stop it (my name), you're giving me a boner!”. I regret not (1) recording the meeting (2) reporting him. Thoughts?
A bit of background: I have worked at my current company for just over 3 years. I've been a manager for a little over 2 years. We're a small agency of 5 people, and I wear MANY hats and am the only one who knows how to do numerous important tasks. As a side hustle, I've been focused on growing my own business, which my company knows about. In fact, I'm the photographer for our clients on top of having my own photography business. Things with my business have begun to fall into place this year while things at my 9-5 are falling apart. I am overworked and only make $50K a year. I have anxiety every day, need to get high to fall asleep most nights, am gaining weight, no longer enjoy things I used to, and generally dread my work days. It came to the point about 3…
Less than 8 hours between shifts
I have a job in CA where I would be scheduled 3-11:00pm but then scheduled 730am-5pm. They call this the clopen (close-open) shift. Many times I will have to work till 1 or 2 am on the evening shift but be expected to return to work at 7:30 am. This results in only 5 hours between shifts. My boss has explained that because we rolled past midnight it doesnt entitle me to any overtime. I am working 16 hours in a 24 hour period but not entitled to OT? Is it legal to even schedule shifts with only an 8 hour gap? If this doesnt make enough sense, please ask questions. BTW I work in the ski industry witch has super goofy labor laws.
Warning: this is a vent and possibly rambling. I know I shouldn't expect anything but hot damn I hope this phenomenon doesn't continue in my career. The last two jobs I have left have lied to my coworkers about the circumstances of my resignation or made me out to be an unjustifiably disgruntled employee in a job I had previously been excelling in and enjoying. Two jobs ago, I led a team of three hourly employees. My CEO had a meeting where he said that people would be getting hours cut. My husband was having a medical crisis and we had been toying with the idea of me getting a better paying job so he could leave the workforce anyway. I went to the CEO (naively) and let him know that I would be looking for work but I did it so none of my team would lose their much…
How to face going into work
I'm a teacher and my contract got non renewed because I pushed back against unethical and borderline illegal practices. I know I did nothing wrong and my coworkers who know are very supportive but I don't know how to walk back into work for the next month (I will be using all my PTO but it still doesn't cover the rest of the year). Anyway, could use any eff them, head up support
Like wtf?! I'm organized and therefore penalized for being tidy?
I work as an assistant teacher for pre toddler kids. I’ve been there for 4 months and it’s gotten worse this month with 7 teachers that have quit including one in my room. Dealing with 9 kids with an assistant teacher that throws me under the bus for stuff that I don’t do wrong, a director that gossips about co workers during my lunch break, asking so much work from the staff for 14 dollars an hour, another teacher I worked with being so nasty to work with and my owner invalidating my feelings about my stress by saying you’ve done this for months you got this, you’re just doing a routine it shouldn’t be that stressful. The joke my owner made today about having to be in our room a lot when I wanted to scream we are understaffed it’s two teachers with 9 toddlers that have climbed on…
