So im about to start a job that I'm fairly replaceable in but I would be pretty good at so my question is should I tell them now that I have a vacation planned in a few months where I'll need to be gone for 4 days or should I wait until I prove myself to be a good worker and then let them know that I really need the time off, or alternatively make up a reason to be gone during the vacation (ie sick child, etc), keep in mind that I will have vacation time but not until a week or two after my planed vacation (I don't get it until after 90 days)

I put a lot in my work and have developed and built multiple departments for the company I work for. Always with the promise of something better. I recently asked what I could do to move up in the company, not demanding a promotion but an inquiry. Also to get to at least market value for what I do let alone actually paid for the work I contribute. Was told last week that I was being promoted to a senior level. Met with boss today to know what that entrails. Small increase in bonus potential and that’s it. Ironically taking the promotion is a zero sum game at this point. So tonight I sent a long email to my boss that I am declining the “promotion”. Now they get to backtrack to the rest of the company and I get to answer questions as to why I am not being…

Worked for a small company that needs me for five years doing a trade. No benefits. Got offered a job doing almost nothing for 30 pct more an hour with amazing benefits. I feel bad leaving but at the same time if you need me why the hell haven't I gotten a raise in 4 years. Bit of a internal conflict but at the end of the day. Damn, why the hell am I caring about a company far more than that company cares about me. Either way, I'm taking the money/benefits.

I resigned due to a number of red flags that presented themselves quite quickly. It wasn't a good career move and I am disappointed. I resigned effective immediately yesterday via email due to being in training and having no responsibilities assigned to me. My former manager has contacted me via email to ask for a phone number to contact me. This is so we can undertake formalities. I'm confused because they would have my phone number. I would also prefer to undertake formalities via email. Would it be okay to tell them that email is my best form of contact for this process? I would prefer to have everything written.
