Back in 2009 when I graduated, my school told me I need college or a trade job to succeed in life or I'd be doing the bare minimum and living in n apartment all my life. I couldn't find anything I really wanted to do, so I decided “fuck it I will just stick with retail and rent an apartment and be good the rest of my life”. Well, now I'm still in retail and not even making the minimum for an apartment. Like I don't want a million dollars, I just want to be paid enough to have my utilities, rent and food. But no, I can't unless I get a freaking trade and I'm not skilled enough or have the brainpower for that. Edit: yall are missing the point, it shouldn't matter what I do, if I work for 40 hours anywhere, I shouldn't be borderline homeless.

I've been at my current job for 8 months. The new person that was hired last week (with zero experience in this position I might add) is making $2/hr more than I do. To add insult to injury, I got a raise last month of $0.50. Another worker who has been there for 3 years only makes $0.50 more than I do. We're all going to bring this to management during our meeting this week and demand fair pay.
In the months following return-to-office mandates, an increased number of senior employees departed Apple, Microsoft and SpaceX, often to work for competitors. (No paywall for the article)
Who’s The “Trick” Now?
You can totally be saving money if you work 80 hours per week. You won’t even have time to spend it, or to enjoy it before a stress induced early death.

This morning I received a notification chat that I have been selected to create in depth recordings of my day to day job for training purposes. It sounds like a very sugar coated way of saying I am being asked to create training material for new hires even though my job title or description has nothing to do with training. They did not mention any incentive with taking on this new task. This would not be frustrating to me if my workload was sustainable, however I am doing the workload of two people and drowning in emails, tasks, etc. I feel like a total ass if I decline but I genuinely feel like I don’t have the time to spare or…
