Hi all, I work at an after-school program as a tutor. Recently, my boss sent me an email asking me to be the assistant manager at the site. Later in the day, she verbally told me that I would be getting a $3/hr raise. As a result, I started taking over manager duties and had to make long drives for the manager meetings. Last week, I noticed that my paycheck was for the same amount. I reached to my boss only for her to tell me that the promotion didn't go through, except she KNOWS that I am working as a manager because she literally sees me every week for the manager meetings. Can I get compensation for the extra work I did? I don't have written proof of the raise but I do have her email about the promotion. I work in Texas if that matters. Thanks.
TLDR: My director offered me a “promotion” about a month after I got hired to take over my position for the entire department. My supervisor just told me there was never a promotion. I used PTO 2 days last week to process that info and now he’s trying to punish me for it. I basically work as a life skills coach for a young adults (YA) in an extended foster care group home. When I started at the company, everyone in my position was scattered between working with minors and the YA. About a month after I started, my director reached out to me to see if I was interested in a promotion. He explained that I would be the only one in my position working with YA, and I’d take on some of his admin work. Because of this dynamic, I’d be taking on a new position. I agreed…
She screwed over the investors
boo! Scary!
A 100,000,000,000 billion dollar worth worker-owned company will have thousands of assets everywhere in the country which will pose a serious threat to the ultra wealthy. The ultra wealthy will lose a huge amount of workforce once their workers learn about this humanitarian 100,000,000,000$ worth worker-owned business. The ultra wealthy will eventually go bankrupt and sell their assets which will be bought by the worker-owned corporation. The worker-owned corporation will lobby for politicians who will jail the previous lobbyists and politicians for thinking they could get away with the financial abuse. Now you have a 3 day work week with paid holidays and whatnot.
Just a minor rant coming through. Use to work for PetSmart and our store manager was super shitty. He would micro manage everything, to the point he’s checking security camera footage of how we worked and if we were slacking off. Many coworkers would opt in working late shifts just to not work when he’d work. Our membership to get deals we offered to customers is called PetPerks, which just consisted a phone number back then. The company began a email capture assignment were we have to ask the customers if they want to add their email to their PetPerks at register. Of course it was tracked and the company made it into a competition amongst the stores in each district. This was the most toxic my store a manger got. If our email capture percentage was low for the week, he’ll be in a bad mood and take it…
