So I started a new job a few weeks ago. My parents wanted to take me on a two week trip the end of June. We were waiting for me to get approval from my work and then it was taking a while to know what was up, then I got approval but my parents had to book different dates for the trip so I was coming back four days later than I told my work. The person in charge seemed really stressed about it that the dates were different than the approved dates. I apologized and explained my parents had to make last minute changes. I feel awful but it’s also hard to figure this stuff out because there’s such little flexibility and it’s hard to know what flights you are getting before you actually book them, plus it was all going through my parents. I’m just frustrated. My job is doing a mandatory training on Tuesday, my normal day off. My new fiancé and I have plans to take our parents to the beach so they can meet each other. My dad had to take time off of HIS job so we could make this happen. Now my job tells me the training they have scheduled that day is Mandatory. They said my options are work a half day for overtime or switch my days around. I responded to the email that I have plans that I can’t reschedule, and am waiting on a response. It’s just so frustrating. This job isn’t my priority. You are not entitled to my time that I haven’t already agreed to! We agreed I would be available 6-3 Wednesday to Sunday. That’s what I signed. I feel like I've been fired. My hours have been getting reduced. My manager has been hasn't been nice to me in the last week. I'm on high alert and feel like I have to walk on eggshells around my manager. I've been at my job for 2 months and had lackluster training. I'm new to this field so it didn't help. I've been trying really hard to reduce my mistakes. But, it doesn't seem like it is enough for my manager. My manager didn't let me know that I was making so many mistakes for so long. Ill try to make this short, my fiancé works for a certain hospital in Missouri. When she signed on a year ago it was stipulated that there would be a bonus that would be paid out incrementally over a year period. Halfway through she took more hours and went from PRN to fulltime, same position increased workflow. When her bonus was to be finally paid out nothing was received, when brought up to HR their response was ” you changed positions therefore it invalidated your previous contract” i.e no bonus period. She's devastated, she busts her ass at her job. I've watched her go to work sick, she's gone to work when family members fall seriously ill, she's done everything she can for this job and the one chance they had to rob her and they do it. I'm at a loss what to do for her, I feel terrible…
