Do I owe my boss these extra hours ? (ENGLAND) I think wage theft maybe ?

Started my shift later than usual at work yesterday because i had an orthodontist appointment. My orthodontist appointment and workplace are both 1 hour bus rides away . Another rule is that if I quit without a two weeks notice, the franchise has the right to reduce the pay for my already worked hours to minimum wage. Thats illegal, right? I've already worked those hours at an agreed upon rate, that sounds like time theft.
