How do I find one? Is there some website or network I'm unaware of? Anyone have suggestions? I can't work through my problems with a bootlicker.

Just a rant/story: It was 1987/8. I was working part time at a company that manufactured audio components (remember those?) in their marketing department as a support person while putting myself through college. My duties centered around the marketing department and included shipping stuff out for them (shirts, mugs, devices samples, etc). Pretty mindless stuff but I absolutely loved the company and their products. At the end of every day, just prior to or when the shipping companies would turn up, this sales/marketing douchbag (DB) would come down and dump a crap ton of stuff on me and tell me to get it out that day. Mind you, DB had all day to get the pile to me, but he waited until 5:30pm every day, just before his fat ass went off for his high carb dinner. Someone on my team just quit, they posted an opening to replace them. The low end of the pay range is more than I make and I’ve been there for 5 years. Im thinking about quitting and applying for the job. Heck, with 5 years experience in the EXACT job, I should be able to hit the middle of that range and get a $12k a year raise.

My wife worked at a larger name real estate company in Calgary for 5 or so years. Did a ton of extra work for them, went above and beyond by doing multiple jobs for them to help out. She takes mat leave, gives them notice 4 months prior to returning as required for someone on leave. She calls, emails and nothing in return. They finally respond a couple weeks before her return date and say ok we will see you then thanks. She walked into the office, got pulled aside and told she was fired for leaving them in a “bad spot” by going on leave. Why couldn’t they tell her weeks or months before she was set to return so she could find another job? She is currently working with employment standards and filing a complaint. Hello, I worked for the Kimpton Rowan, and they have informed me that I cannot receive my final check until I come and sign a separation notice. I informed my management team, that the position that I applied for was barista (that was the indeed job listing), and the duties they were having me fulfill were that of a Room service attendant and restaurant server; that I was looking for employment as a barista, as the job listing entailed. I came in the previous day, expecting a paycheck of my unpaid wages, but was informed that I need to come in later on in the week to sign a separation notice, and to receive my final check. Upon inspection of my paycheck, I was only paid particularly, and was missing a day's pay of work. I worked a total of 2 training days. Is this shady? I informed them, that…

My dad works at a metal manufacturing factory. He has been working for this same company for the last 30+years. He has never had any disciplinary action against him and never had problems with HR, ownership or his coworkers. There is however a supervisor that is not liked by most employees and my dad feels targeted by him and even comes home in complete sadness with how he gets treated by him. He yells at not just my dad but other employees. The other day he threw a glass by my dad because he got upset about something. He gives my dad the toughest jobs because my dad is one of the more senior operators there. When the machine breaks down he is upset at my dad that the work can’t continue. He even comes by my dads machine and increases the speed of it while my dad is working…
