Hello! So I have a situation and I want people to weigh in on it. I started on a new team May 2022. Things had been going well for the most part. The first negative encounter I had with her is when we were having a one on one and I usually turn on my camera( I work from home) for these meetings. I was wearing a nursing tank top. She told me I looked like I just stepped away from the pool and I should look more professional during meetings or I should keep my camera off. That was the first instance that made me feel like something was off. To be fair during this time I was going through a lot of things personally and I’ve done my best up to that point to keep her in the loop. This was in August 2022. October 2022 The next…
I work in a foundry/machine shop with dangers everywhere. I understand the necessity of cameras in the event of any given accident. However, it seems my company only uses the cameras to spy and get mad at people for sitting down or using their cell phones. Recently I was up in the front office where the plant manager, operations manager, and various other white hardhats’ offices are. I noticed a distinct lack of cameras up there. Who’s to say they’re not having a Wolf of Wallstreet style cocaine orgy behind their frosted glass and partitioned space? Can anyone else commiserate?

help deciding if a jobs worth it
My rent is 940 a month. Gas is 300 a month. Other memberships 100 a month (for like 5 of them) I spend 2 hours a day commuting to and from work. I make 18$ an hour on top of an average 5 hours of overtime. I also get commission each week if the store does well (extra 150$) I work 45 hours a week (within the time clock system) My taxes take up 1/5th of my paycheck My car is a 2005 Honda pilot with a rusting subframe and it might only last me 3 years. Also just get angry on the road because people are idiots and I almost get into car crashes within the two hours of driving each day. I've never gotten into one but if I was a tad sleepier in the morning I'd definitely be dead (envious of that dimension). I design kitchens and…
I didn’t realize I had waived this…
Hello group, my gf got a sign on bonus at her current job of $7,500 paid out in 25% increments every 3 months. She is looking to leave this job for a new position, however is concerned that her current job will try and sue her or garnish her wages to get back the money they’ve paid out so far through the sign on bonus. The image posted is of the paper she signed upon being hired. I am trying to tell her that YES, this is a legally binding agreement. However, the new job she is looking to start is saying NO, that it’s merely a scare tactic used to keep employees for the duration. It should be noted that the Administrator has changed 2x more since she started there. I wanted to post this in /legalhelp but that group doesn’t allow images. Please lmk what you think!
$15/hr Minimum Wage
Realized something today, technically speaking we officially hit the point where we've been discussing the concept of a $15/hr minimum wage for SO. FUCKING. LONG. that is has officially become irrelevant as it would actually be a $20/hr wage if adjust for 10 years of inflationary periods. Feel free to check for yourselves lmao. Absolutey sublime.
