It’s not a permanent job I’m a student been in this IT job since May last year, and everyday I just get more and more fed up My manager is passive aggressive and not helpful, behaviour is questionable But I’m sitting here everyday and I just don’t care. I see my co worker in his mid 40s pandering to his supervisor and telling me things that obviously the supervisor told him to tell me, and it’s obvious, was about mistakes I made, I notice his behaviour changed towards me If I get to that stage in my mid 40s please shoot me I’m here until august, then back to university. I don’t really want to work in IT anymore, the environment bores me and the work is mind numbing In my meeting today with the supervisor he was going on about the mistakes I was making, how it affects the…

Throughout this month I've had to take off from my part-time in-store shopper job on short notice due to a handful of medical concerns. This includes… Foot pain strong enough that I could barely walk A sinus infection An interview with a better position lol Hives across my body because of an unexpected allergic reaction to the pennecillin I was given for thr sinus infection I can only assume that this is why I am barely scheduled this week. As opposed to the usual five or six almost-eight-hour shifts I'm usually getting, I was given a total of three eight-ish-hour shifts — Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday. Luckily I'm still living at home so I have a safety net, but I was still a bit put-out. But, whatever — I'm leaving this job soon anyway now that the “better position” I mentioned earlier has come to fruition. Guess who called me…
I had to watch my partner, who has been sick for a week (still going to work because it's a small business and coworker was on vacation) spend her weekend fighting insurance to get health care, and meds for a very bad sinus infection. She's been on antibiotics for less then 12 hours, and decided to take off the day to rest. She texted her boss, who said “You've already missed 5 days(with doctors notes in the last 3 months. I need you to come in. This is affecting my business.” A. Of course things that happen to your employees affect your business. What are you going to do? Fire her and hire someone that doesn't get sick in the winter? B. You offer no sick days or vacation days or health insurance. What are people supposed to do other then call in sick and “affect your business” C. She works…
Approached after using the bathroom
So my employer refuses to fix the toilet that over flows regularly because it runs and the handle needs to be “jiggled” or “lifted.” Today my boss came out and whispered to another employee about it being down and running. Then she approached me and said “was it you?” Then proceeded to tell me that I’m always leaving it down. I mentioned that it’s not a normal routine for people to lift the handle and she made excuses and said I’ve caused it up flood. Not only was this embarrassing as fuck but also now i feel like I’m being monitored when i used the restroom and it’s making me very uncomfortable. I don’t understand why a simple fix can’t be made instead of blaming your low level employees for shit. I feel like approaching her but I’m pregnant and hormonal af and I’m not sure it will come out…
Hey, normally I really like my job but today something happened that is inexcusable. They made this video a required part of safety training without any warning in the email. (Mind you, the video doesn't have a content warning either.) Content warning for said video: 1:11 – 1:31 shows an active shooter shooting multiple people w/ blood splatter 3:22 – 4:12 show the active shooter with occasional frames zoomed in on the gun 4:39 – 4:51 show dead bodies as authorities search for the active shooter Audio of gunshots and people screaming are dispersed throughout the video I'm not trying to be someone who's “easily triggered” but we're a large business who is more than likely employing multiple people who have or know someone who has survived gun violence. I sent out an email as a response with the time codes and my boss made me recall the email. (The…
Hard last day
Man, today is tough. It's my last day at my current job, I have another one lined up to start in a couple of weeks. They announced to everyone today that I have already been replaced, I am not welcome at the staff-wide meeting today (it's a small staff, only about 25 people), and no one has really talked with me much today, with the exception of the guy who is replacing me. To make it a bit worse, the person who is replacing me is getting all of the responsibilities I was trying to get while in the role, while not having to take on the parts of the job I disliked. He gets the best parts of the job plus the other things I wanted. I advocated for change in this position for about a year, and it fell on deaf ears. I asked why he got the…
