I work for a small business and they pay just a few dollars per hour above minimum wage and we do a lot of work and most of it deals with protecting people’s identities and fraud prevention. Let me start by saying that I am NOT lazy. I play piano, I read, I do yard work, I cook & clean. If something needs to be done i get it done. However. I HATE work. I've had multiple jobs doing multiple different things: Working with children, cooking, waitress, factory work, call center jobs & retail. And i hate every single one of them. Yes job can cause depression, addiction, mental illness and even suicide. Jobs affects everything in your life including your freedom and lifestyle (depending on pay and work conditions). There are so many studies done on how certain jobs raise the rates of suicides and mental illness and people still want to deny it. I'm tired of being gaslit that I am somehow insane because I dont like working in a warehouse or factory for dirt cheap pay.

I gotta say… I have hated my job for a while now and have been so stressed out after coming back from maternity leave last month. I was tempted not even to come back once my leave ended, but decided to give it a fair shot… well. Two coworkers found work elsewhere and just gave their 2 weeks, which would make my already stressful job eons harder as I’ll be expected to pick up their tasks for God knows how long… and severely underpaid I might add.
