Obviously if they are gonna narc on us for shitting five minutes longer than usual – they will rat you out when you unionize…so what gives? Yeah we deal with tyrants as bosses all the time…but what do you do about these punk ass snitches. Please be more original than “Snitches Get Stiches” – we knew that since grade school. Also, fuck a job – three months strong not having to answer to a boss. Viva La Revolution.
Quit on the spot
Why aren’t businesses hiring anymore?
I…don't know what to do. My contract job is ending in two months. I have been applying to over 400 jobs since January as I am proactive. I have 3+ years experience in sales and customer service. I have not gotten a single interview call back except for scammy insurance commission only jobs that only revealed what they were during the zoom meeting. My resume is the best it's ever been. I even created a linkedin for the first time and started applying there. I've constantly been applying on indeed. Yet over and over again I am not even considered without an interview. I can't like off of $15 an hour I currently make $22 and hour and I can't find anything that is remotely near that. I even apply to $20 an hour in hopes of still making similar to what I do now. I am so stressed I…
Trying to find a job feels impossible
I'm 24, just finishing up a masters program. Currently I work as a project coordinator at my school, a position that's student workers only so I'll lose it when I graduate. My boss is trying to convince his hire ups to hire me on after because of some of the work I've done (totally revamped our internship system and now working on a university wide version of it). I've been doing the networking thing and applying. I've talked to multiple CEOs and founders in my field; they're interested in my thesis work (I make interactive multimedia systems that are disability friendly) and always say they want to talk more, then never do. I apply to their companies and hear nothing back. They talk about how they're excited to see disabled people building the type of tech that works for us, and then never want to integrate my tech into their…
Don't know if I'm even on the right sub, but it looks like it could be. Rant incoming too, so I'm sorry for that. I'm stuck feeling super depressed, de motivated, and…well…stuck. I work full time 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday in my dream job. I go to work and get to do what I love, I help people and the job has meaning. The money is quite reasonable too. When not at work I'm raising my son and studying. Despite all of this, I've spoken with banks and mortgage brokers who have straight up told me that they would love to give me a home loan, but they can't loan me enough to actually buy a home. I could get a lend of approximately $370K when the average price of homes in my area is approximately $1Million to $1.5 Million. That is for a 3 bedroom basic house.…
if only lol
A relative of mine is in a situation where he's not satisfied with his job and has been trying to work out some other job where he can make a living. He doesn't want to work for a boss and hates customer facing work. He doesn't have office work experience, but doesn't like the idea of sitting down at a desk and following office politics. His current job isn't customer-facing, but it doesn't pay a lot either. For years he's been throwing the idea ball around with me and other people he talks to, the two big ones that he was trying to work on are professional musician and professional poker player. But they aren't very reliable and also are highly competitive areas since most people trying these things won't make money from it at all. What are some other good options for him? Jobs that involve driving aren't an…
Accidental wage theft?
To preface: I work in a fast food restaurant in Michigan, I’m pretty sure this is all just negligence(not that that’s an excuse), and I’m very sorry about the adhd format. So. About a week ago, I found out I’ve been getting automatically clocked out at a certain time by the computer system, regardless of what time I actually clock out at. My boss didn’t know until recently- I stayed late a few times to get some extra cleaning done(was hoping for a bit of overtime) and my paycheck just did not reflect that at all. Now she’s working with me so I do get paid for those hours but without the extra overtime 🙁 Anyways I know for a fact that when a shift lead/manager clocks out at the end of the day, any other leads also get automatically clocked out. And we sometimes get automatically clocked roughly half…
