So this is a short story. I was working for a field technician company that made about 20 per hour. It had some good benefits, company van etc. I also had a company calling me to get me away from them offering me 23 an hour. I got through the hiring process but then near the start of onboarding I changed my mind. To make this less awkward not taking the job I told the second job that my job matched the offer. I hung up and said that was that. The recruiter from the second job panicked, kept calling me over and over asking if I would reconsider. Long post but needing advice and support So on Thursday I was told that by the assistant superintendent of HR that they will not be renewing my contract at the end of the year. This woman has never been a fan of mine, I had a meeting with her in January about an incident with a staff member and during this meeting she asked why I took a mental health day. I explained that I had a lot going on including a family friend passing away. I work at a restaurant in a college town in Maryland. I love the place and the people. The owners have gotten a little ridiculous recently.
