I had to download three app’s to do my job. Things like authenticators for the banks, etc. Ok, no problem. I get it. But when I touch my phone my boss gets all pissy and stays “limit you phone usage” or “please put your phone away”. Every time I touch it. How is she getting work done if she’s constantly watching me? First, I’m using the phone to access the app’s you made me get. Second, I don’t love having to use my personal device for work, but I do it. It’s like they created a situation to get me in trouble. Edit: I also am not allowed to charge my phone at work. So if it dies, I can’t do my job. No win situation.

Instead they have my coworkers tell me things and honestly it's embarrassing and makes me upset. I work at a dog kennel and apparently they decided I'm not good at what kennels I put the dogs in??? (I've been here for months now and this is the first time they've said anything)

I just need to write and vent somewhere. I'm just a concerned parent who's concerned about other parents (and their kids). Having a child is wonderful, it's a miracle, it should be congratulated, but I'm so cynical and salty about it, because, at least in America, it means you have to deal with a Cthulhu amount of paperwork. Good luck if you don't have a job, even gooder luck if you have a job that doesn't pay squat. Go apply for SNAP, EBT, Wic, you'll either get denied, confused, or forgotten. The programs are supposed to be designed to transition people out of poverty. But no it don't. We're stuck here. Waiting for markdowns at the Supermarket. Or worse yet, clamoring for a Wal-Mart-Amazon-Cthulhu Great Greeter Job- with no benefits. And the politics are brutally benign. Politicians love talking about parents, and their kids, and what they need and don't…

Somehow, I think our governments should have thought about the impacts of job displacement, challenges with learning new skills, disruptions to the organizational hierarchy, uncertainty, and more.

I have been working as a backend software engineer for around 3 years and I've got poor performance ratings twice already. This has taken a toll on my mental health to point where I feel like I don't want to work for anyone anymore. I want to be on my own, start something on my own, have that freedom and also find out some way to earn for a living. I really have a passion for art but everyone just suggested me not to quit my software job to become an artist. I think my mental health is more important than earning money for now. What do you suggest?
