What is required?

The “general strike” posts have peaked my interest. I posted a comment on another post but I didn't think it all the way through. What steps need to be taken to organize a general strike? How can the fear one would have about striking be diminished? If the government did come with weapons and force what should we do? Is it really all or nothing or could rolling strikes across all industries have the same impact? Economic impact of a 10 day strike? What is the best guess on the impact to the world's economy and political situation? I don't know any of these answers but maybe collectively we do.

What can a company do if I keep serving my clients, but quiet quit the rest of work?

Context: I was in a company that was sold and was very senior. With my experience, I helped with all company integration, set up the sales process, built all the project management for our services into their PM tool, worked with IT to set up a new data storage practice based on protecting our client PII data, and operationalized a transfer of our clients and marketing materials from our systems to the new ones. This took more than 6 months. As soon as I finished (successfully) my manager said they wouldn't be keeping me. They were “gracious enough” to give me 4 months notice, but no new work, and transferred much of the work off my plate to allow me to job hunt. We have unlimited vacation, but I've never taken any because I have to job hunt. I'm about to get a job that pays the same, but would…

Question about work incentives

Hello, hope it’s okay I ask this here. I tried legal advice but someone didn’t understand my question and it’s been hours and I’d like some guidance if possible. I live in Indiana, and last Sep my work has offered an additional $100 if you sign up and work overtime. First it was Visa gift cards, then in Dec they changed to putting it directly on your paycheck. I have had no issue receiving the bonus until my upcoming pay period. My pay period was Jan 29 – Feb 11, with payday being this Fri. I worked the volunteer overtime Feb 4 & 5, and was expecting to see the two bonus days on my upcoming check. However this morning only one showed. I asked about it and HR said they were paying bonuses until the 4th, anything after will be the next check. I met with a higher up…

6 month review woes

So I had my 6 month review at a job recently and felt it worth sharing as it has angered me no end. For context, it is a minimum wage admin job alongside one other person of the same grade/role. In this review they: Blamed me for a system issue, because they had asked the other admin who had denied involvement, so, rather than ask me, they just assumed I was to blame. I asked them to evidence and show proof it was my wrongdoing and it turned out it was a glitch with their OneDrive rather than something anyone had done intentionally, after defending myself they did not apologise, merely shrugged it off and said “well you have to sort it anyway”. Accused me of multiple mistakes but were unable to present evidence when asked. Claimed that me doing the overtime they had explicitly asked me to do to…

Resigning because they cannot spell my name right and they schedule me 10 mins before i start?

I’ll make this quick and simple. I’ve been working at my job for close to 3 years. About a year ago they hired a new co-ordinator to schedule my clients (Healthcare worker) She never spells my name right it’s always a different variation of my name, i’ve brought it up once before saying it’s spelt so and so, never changes. They also schedule me 10 mins before i’m supposed to clock( i visit people in their own homes ) e.g i start at 9am on the dot and they will schedule me at 8:30-8:40 because this certain client likes someone early. I’ve said please stop rostering me earlier than our agreed time of 9AM so they have started putting it down as 8:50 start time. Am i being petty by quitting a job i’ve been at for 3 years over 10 mins and not spelling my name right?

My Boss Met With Me About “Quiet Quitting”

So I'm going to preface this with a brief description of my work ethic. Just about everywhere I've worked, you could consider me as the “anchor employee.” I show up during my scheduled shift, on time and unless it's an actual emergency or death in the family, I always show up. I'm more reliable than death and taxes. On the other side of the coin, I don't usually take extra shifts. I do my 40 hours reliably so I don't have to. My company has been pretty short handed lately because they bit off more than they could chew with a contract. They tried supplementing it with temps (instead of hiring more people) and obviously that bit them in the ass in the long run. Now they've resorted to reducing the number of required workers in departments and taking volunteers for double shifts, extra days and weekends. The other day…
