I think my boss is the devil
TW: death (Sorry for format issues, on my phone) The context: -I used to be an apprentice body piercer -I currently work in a VERY small venue with a bit of a skeleton staff. We had to close for the day when the head chef was sick The characters: Angel Manager – AM – friend of mine who’s been very understanding Demon Boss – DB – owner of the venue The story: About 3 weeks ago I lost a close friend of mine. It was very sudden and unexpected (we still don’t really know what happened but it seems like it was a medical issue) and I’m struggling. I’m ‘lucky’ enough to have not experienced loss like this before. I’m not close with my family so I’m big on found family and my friend was that to me. So far I’ve taken 4 days off. Last week I took a…
DISCLAIMER: I’m in Australia I’m sitting here writing this as I start another 12-hour night shift making building products, for a company that is just all forms of incompetent and greedy and if it wasn’t for the need to have a regular income at the moment – I’d be so outta here (the guys I work with are top notch, it’s management that piss me off). For context I make a food product, biltong specifically. The roadblock came when a biltong business (Brick and Mortar – that’ll be important later) came up for sale,…
Stupid Interview Question
Is it just me but when they ask why do you want to work for ____?? Uhm lemme think I'm really passionate about stacking shelves, having no free time, receiving crap pay for it and having to deal with horrible customers. I need it for the money!!!! Some of the recruitment processes are out of touch from reality.
This subreddit is so much cringe
Airing Out My Grievances
I work in a medical warehouse that shares the same building with both a bakery and landscaping all under the same company. Warehouse positions are supposed to start at $17/hr. This one pays only minimum wage. My previous supervisor was a dirty snake that I thought was my friend, before realizing that he was a lazy, entitled jackass who is beloved by one of my higher ups and despised by everyone else. I'll get to him later. As the warehouse, and the absolute bottom line, we are at the mercy of other departments, including our graphics department and suppliers. If something goes even slightly wrong, we are lambasted by negative comments, even though it's something that is no fault of our own (graphics team not printing pamphlets on time, our orders not coming down on time or at all, or our suppliers not getting our supplies to us on time).…
