Myself and a few other co workers asked for an hour lunch and were told “no”, since 30 is the policy nationwide. The refrigerators in the break room are always packed because almost no one leaves. 30 minutes start to finish is simply not enough time. I’m assuming nothing can be done? Lots of moving around and repetitive lifting. The additional 30 minutes of rest would far outweigh the whole “off 30 minutes earlier” in this case, as I know lots out there want 30 minutes since it’s less time How would you handle this if you felt like you needed an hour?

Impossible to retire early
It's impossible to retire early (30's, 40's) and be financially independent. Wages are dogshit, costs are high, it's over unironically. I am 25 and I feel like I'm 70, I'm so fucking drained. The weekends are NOT nearly enough to recover from 5 days of wageslaving.
Timberland Reveals the Depressing Truth
So I’m massively underpaid , and I realize that a future new hire will be making thousands more than me for the same position and I’ll probably have to train them. I know many will say I should quit or ask for a raise immediately. I’ve decided to wait for a better offer so I can force them to make a quicker decision on raising my salary or letting me leave to work for someone else. So… other than deciding to do a lot less work , I’ve also decided to steal a freshly wrapped tablet device as a concession. It’s not on our records so it doesn’t really exist. So it’s mine. I kinda feel bad because I don’t usually steal since it’s ‘immoral’. But here’s the thing , even if they raised my salary to an acceptable level , I think I’d still probably keep the thing I…
Quitting because of micromanager
I am quitting in a week from my work of 5 years which I enjoyed until we had a new micromanager I finally had it enough. After being ghosted, neglected and micromanaged by my manager for a few months (never responding over teams, no feedback just silence, his way or the highway) i decided to quit and found another job. I had a pretty bad year end review where my manager blamed me for almost everything, made remarks on my assumed personality etc etc. and nothing good was mentioned on my last year performance which I find absurd because i am doing 3 head count work for the past year. I was not liking his managing style for a few months already (very strict on our flexible working arrangements, wants to know what everyone does, strict lunch hours only for our team because because he doesnt like it) and because im…
Co workers policing my toilet time ?
It’s my period today and I’m extremely heavy and I have a huge feeling my co workers are gonna come at me if I’m anywhere not near the front of the shop for 1minute. They were making up lies to my boss saying I’m skiving during my toilet breaks (which I’m not) I get very bad bloating at work that can turn into painful stomach aches so I need to go to the toilet a lot more than usual. They said the times I take my toilet breaks is suspicious (towards the last 5 minutes of my shift) but that is when the front is quiet and we have no patients / customers ?? So of course it’s better to take it then I don’t even get a signal on my phone in the toilet I also want to let everyone know , I’m being treated like this whilst being…
I always see stuff like this on my feed on various social media platforms. Glorifying exploiting people who just need somewhere to live. People like this are also contributing to the housing crisis by constantly buying up property to rent out, shrinking the avaliable stock to buy.
Help – not sure what to do here
Recently, I have been having trouble with my lower back and went to the doctor for a CT to figure out what the problem was. Found out I have a prolapsed disc that's pressing on a nerve. My job requires me to sit down for long periods of time, and this has been hindering my recovery process. My doctor said it would be in my best interest to take 2 weeks off to recover and rest. Unfortunately, I had my wisdom teeth out in Feb, and I used 8 of my 10 sick days for my recovery. I'm in the negative for my sick leave. I'm looking at unpaid sick leave at the moment, and it's making me anxious as hell. I've got a certificate for 2 weeks off and I'm not looking forward to giving it to my boss. It's crazy that I'm more worried about making my work…
