Ok so I thought I would try to explain, Im 18 (but in Alabama 19 is an adult) and my family is kinda weird. My mother, father, cousins, uncle and aunt, and grandparents all live in the same house with only 6 bedrooms. And the majority of them collect social security, or work minimum wage. But the thing that started to seem weirder as I got older is that they never let us have personal possessions, everything was shared. Xbox, tv, beds, rooms, toys, cars, food. None of it was mine, I could use any of those things anytime I wanted, but so could the rest of the family. My dad told me once “We dont have enough money not to share, don't be greedy”. And my mother once told me “If I have money, you have money. If you have money, I have money, If I have smokes you…

I only graduated two years ago but during my studies I was so passionate and had high hopes for my future. I wanted to build and invest on myself, network with people, expand my knowledge and just keep learning wherever I go to hopefully eventually utilize this knowledge to help others. I used to constantly read books about my topic of interest, took online courses and did programs… Then I applied to this high-end job which was the only opening during covid, and I didn’t even think i’d get in but I did. My husband also did it and by the time he finished it easily took him 8 hours. It seems really shady and excessive to expect someone to do that much training at home and completely unpaid.

I am a supervisor but I have a boss above me with no filter and constantly bragging in an attempt to make himself fit in more with the workers underneath him who severely dislike him because of his chaotic behavior, rude comments, and sense of superior being towards everyone. I have been out on paternity leave and got a call from one of the supervisors who regretted to inform me the boss said in a crowd of employees “I saw pictures of the baby it don’t look him, it looks like me.” It rubbed them all the wrong way and they told me. Before going to HR, I contacted the VP who is both our boss and he immediately disregarded the claim and defended/protected my boss. This is not his first HR violation as he has had at least 5 calls since last summer. I have not contacted HR hoping…
