I do most of my boss’s job for about 1/4th of her pay. My union is currently striking because we’re paid cents over minimum wage while our corporation holds nearly SIX BILLION FUCKING DOLLARS on reserve. My boss and coworkers have, more than once, made racist comments about black people around me (I’m black), yet I’m doing my job, theirs, and even the jobs of their higher ups pretty much everyday. So I said, fuck it. When someone tests positive for covid at our corp, they get paid time off for up to two weeks as long as they continue to test positive. I actually was really sick with the flu, but I was still expected to come into work as soon as possible. So I did a little work on photoshop, submitted a “positive” covid test, and I took two weeks off. I’m sick of driving 2 hours a…

What USA workers should fight for.
Hello i read an whatch a lot about ur poor worling conditions and wunder why u dont already riot in the streets. Here us sonething we have little european country ypu guys should fight for. 1) collectivr bargaining contracts. 2) 14 wages a year. 3) no contact after work hours. 4) 38.5 or 40 hours per week 5) tax be nefits for kids 6) child Support money Not talking avout basics like PTO and healthcare. Any questions are welcome
I started a new job and have been working there for 2 months. When I was originally hired, I was told I would be working 100% remote. Now, I get told that I am working 100% in-person. My budget does not factor in extra driving and expenses like that. I previously worked a 100% remote job and let them know that I am looking for a similar agreement. Would I be eligible for unemployment because they are violating my original agreement? I only have a verbal agreement from my employer.
How far we are from a Revolution?
The way I see things, the unimployment is rising, the inflaction is rising, more and more jobs are being replaced with the help of softwares and AI. Sooner or later the amount of people that have the money to make the capitalists whell spins will become a joke. I don't see any other future than a violent riot and revolution. What are your guys thougs on this?
20/hr? 25? 30? I’m in a (relatively) LCOL area in North Florida and make $28/hr. I’m able to pay all my bills and rent an ok place but not much to do anything else. I probably need at least 25/hr realistically.
I worked 76 hours last week and only saw my wife when I came home at 4 am to say goodnight as I went to sleep, only to do it again the next day. For 12 days strait before I got 2 days off. All of that to make an extra $1,000. 36 hours of extra on call work with barely any sleep for a measly $1,000 (BEFORE TAX) I’m near my limit. My wife and I don’t need a lot of material stuff to be happy. And we’ve discussed quitting our jobs, selling everything, and just living a simple peaceful life. (EXCEPT THATS ILLEGAL YOU MUST SUBMIT TO THE CORPORATE OVERLORDS) I have an extensive list of skills, college education, all the things I was told to do.
I work M-F and when I took this job a few years ago, I took it solely because they would let me have the weekends off. I was asked on my day off to work on my next day off. I didn't respond until my scheduled work hours that I would get back to them about it. I don't want to work on my day off. Them being understaffed is not my problem. If there was an incentive I wouldn't mind but all I got was a string of emojis trying to be cute to lure me in to work. What would you do? If they offered time and a half or a free sick day I would be all over it, but all I get is one less day off. Thoughts on how to proceed?
