He wasnt talking about a one time event either, no big things coming up too. He wanted me to wake up every few hours….. just to check my phone. I honestly thought it was a joke so I laughed a bit and said “haha Ya, I'm not doing that”. He did the whole “Why are you laughing? I'm seriously asking. Would you be able to do that?” I said absolutely not. Then he offered a compromise of “How about just 6am? I don't think its unreasonable to ask you to wake up at 6”. I again told him thats a ridiculous request and I'm not doing that either. Also for background I start work at 9am. And he was talking about ALL days, holidays, weekends, weekdays.

I read this subreddit and hear all the horror stories and all I can think is, wow I'm glad I don't live in america. You guys keep saying lets organise and take back our rights, but for some reason you'll only do that for a narcissist like trump. WHY?

Insurance Issues
So I work for a large healthcare system that I went FT with in January, hired the previous October as PT. I wasn’t made FT until 1/16 due to some “technical” errors in an employee platform they use, which pushed my benefits election to this date. Now, I’m unable to select benefits due to another “error” in the same system, leaving myself and my husband uninsured. I’ve filed so many tickets trying to resolve this issue with HR, because we can’t speak to anyone directly (it has to be online tickets via chat). And now I’m coming close to my election deadline, 2/16. No one can figure out the problem or even communicate what my options are, as we both have medications and health issues we need to make appointments for. What can I do? Is there anyone at a state level or a federal level that can help me…
Delete if not allowed. I have a friend who works as a mortgage originator for a bank. She is set up on an incentive based pay structure where she gets a base salary plus incentive pay for originating and closing loans over her base production goal. Recently, the employer has capped the amount of applications she can originate per week which could potentially hinder her ability to exceed her goals and get her bonuses. My question is, is this allowed? I doubt it is illegal but just thought I’d ask Reddit as Google isn’t turning up anything.
Parking ticket question but got fired
Random question. If i got parking ticket in a company car but got fired a week later should I pay it or ignore it AFTER they already paid parking enforcement? Background information The week I was let go they said it was a business decision, said they liked me but it was mostly due to speculation of my peers, whatever that means. I told them that it was a BS reason and should be based on my work ability. My supervisor said he agrees but can't do anything about work politics. I had a parking ticket that I was going to pay, but since I've been let go they paid it off the company car (under the company name) then sent me a letter 3 weeks later telling me to write them a check for it to the company. My supervisor was cool with me. My manager who ordered me…
