This is bad.. but I've seen what these people deal with as a plumbing mechanic. EMT are next. They're crying while walking out.

Didn’t think it will be so drastic
I started a second job at a hotel a few weeks ago. It has not been going well. One of the problems that literally everyone complains about is that the manager is a total asshole (which I have absolutely experienced; just today she chewed me out for not being able to work a shift tomorrow that she gave me FOUR HOURS NOTICE on). I've been told by some of the other staff that she's the reason many people over the last year have quit, at least partially leading to the short-staffing crisis that necessitated hiring me and many other new people. She is there six days a week, from 9am to 9.30 – 10pm, without fail. She's been working at this hotel for nearly 30 years, has no family, no friends, and, from the sounds of it, just no life outside the hotel at all. She's a total asshole, and…
My boss threatened me with blackmail
I know this sub is mostly for Americans but I don’t have anyone else to talk to about this so here it goes. I’m from Iran and I work in an electronics store. My boss is one of the most disgusting human beings I’ve ever met in my life. I’ve been taking fluoxetine just to deal with his behavior and how he treats us. The thing is I can’t quit. My parents passed away in an accident few years ago so it’s just me and my little brother. I have to make sure I make enough money to be able to provide for him and pay for his education. I used to work two jobs but I had to quit my second job because of what’s going on in my country. For those of you who don’t know what’s currently happening in Iran, we have been fighting and protesting against…
So many screenshots are posted here where you see a non-pleasant conversation between the boss and the employee. I live in Europe and yeah, my ex-bosses had my phone number but they never texted me. So many rude texts and terminations are posted here that happen through SMS or other communication apps. I think this happens really, yes, but somehow I start doubting that these conversations posted here are real all the time. The latest screenshot post is not even 24 hours old and already has almost 50.000 upvotes which shows how much karma they are worth. And I saw so many similar situations posted in the past. The OPs were called out for wanting to gain karma with those fake conversations. Maybe you can shed some light on this because I'm confused.
I recently quit a cook position at the local pizza hut. The pay wasn't great, but I liked the drivers and we had a decent enough comradery. The manager was the problem. She wouldn't step up to help anyone, not to cut a pizza, not to fry wings, not even to help ring someone up, and certainly not to help the only cook (me) when they were 15 orders behind and drowning in the weeds. No, she would rather sit in the office and watch NCIS or sleep, when everyone else is busting ass. Yesterday was a day off for me. I get a text at about 5.30 local time, with one word: “ETA?” I ignore it. Maybe she meant to send it to someone else. 7.30 hits. “You're getting a write up for today. You need to have (training videos) done before you clock in this week.” I'm fucking…
The generalized rape of human activity.
Wage labor is the generalized rape of human activity, the dehumanization of the worker, whose activity consists only in adopting the positions that make money happy. Genealogy of the Money-God exhibits every moment of this rape.
Written up for two days of absence.
The title is the bulk of it. I have severe depression/anxiety and make no secret of it, I speak openly about it often. I’ve never been able to hold a job more than 4-6 months tops because of this, because of stringent attendance policies. I was optimistic getting the job six months ago (aka, this is my longest-held job ever) because I was told, among other lies, that they were excellent at working with their employees. Turns out they fired their attendance lady shortly after I came on and automated the process. They told us on Dec. 1st or so that they were now counting absences, and I was called into the office and talked to for a total of six points from three absences in November. Not a huge deal because the supervisors told me I had one of the lowest points of anyone with the company…cut to today’s…
