Doctors note for job cost me $800
Title says it all. Got covid back in December, went to get a doctors note to show to my job for whatever reasons they needed it and today I got a letter in the mail for a $800 hospital bill that I can’t afford… all for a piece of paper that my boss probably didn’t even read. My mind went “this cant be legal” but of course this is America and America makes no sense
your typical day working at Chick-fil-A
When I worked at Chick-fil-A in highschool made $7.50/hour. Here are a few of the things I experienced while working there: While taking outdoor orders in the summer (in SC) I started seeing black spots and threw up do to the heat and not getting relief. They allowed me to sit and the cooler after that. In the winter we were only allowed to wear Chick-fil-A coats while taking orders outside. They were thin. If we wanted a thicker coat we had to purchase one. One day numerous times I asked for relief taking orders outside so I could use the restroom and after 30+ minutes finally went inside and pissed myself once I reached the bathroom.
The current “load management” debate is simply not rooted in science or medicine. A major factor: Many players now enter the NBA with badly broken bodies. I reported on this massive crisis over a two-year period:https://t.co/YDG83Qzk8Zhttps://t.co/gMiwl4E7wO— Baxter Holmes (@Baxter) March 2, 2023
My Employee Works Too Hard
I own a small business. It doesn’t make a crazy amount, but it makes enough for an employee. I hired him about a month ago and he is seriously the hardest worker I’ve met. This dude grinds hard, which I really appreciate. I’ve always had the dream of building a company where people don’t DREAD work. Even though I can’t afford to give him a 4 day work week yet, I want to create that environment one day. Today he opened up about his sick parents and how much of his money goes directly to them. I told him that he can take take 2 extra days off (would still get paid for those days) which would mean 2 4 day work weeks this month to spend time with his family or just get some extra rest. He politely declined, which shocked me, because I would’ve hopped on that offer…
My boss has been lying to me
I work as a preschool chef on a government campus. I have had trouble with my dishwashers since I started there over a year and a half ago. They leak chemicals, and constantly shut themselves off. The repair man who originally came to look at them told me we just needed to replace the dishwashers, as they are older than I am (30) and are on their way out. He got them running just good enough to suffice but stressed replacing them. My boss then told me that the floors needed to be replaced before I could get new dishwashers, which requires government approval, since they own the building. Well the federal doesn’t move quickly on anything, even when it involves following their own food safety regulations. The last few weeks my dishwashers have been even worse, constantly turning themselves off, and when I go to look at the water…
