Im a specialised professional in my industry, have a management position and enjoy the job I currently have as much as one can enjoy their work. Another company headhunted me, although I said I wasn’t too interested, promised me much better things if I just come in for an interview. At the moment I’m having an extremely hard and busy time at work so taking time off was so difficult, but I still managed to do it, prepared myself for it and was waiting to leave the house. Less than 2 hrs before the interview their recruiter messaged me on linked in saying “ sorry can’t call I’m underground but company needs to cancel and reschedule. Do not attend” That was it. Am I right to be annoyed? I think they might want to reschedule but I feel like that’s just a little rude. I’m in England if that helps…

I’m young and looking ahead to what I will do with my life and I started asking myself this question. School is like a 9 to 5 to me, I go to school for 7 hours a day 5 days a week and expected to do 1-2 more hours of homework, plus my robotics club that takes 15 more hours a week or more. I am not given time to recover or enjoy myself. My waking existence is work. And I think, “will this end?” What is the culmination of all this hard work I put forth? I just received an email informing me of my annual increment. It lists my current salary and my new salary. It is the same amount down to the penny. Happy pay raise to me!

My post refers to agency recruitment, as that is the only one I've been involved in. If the formatting is off, I am on mobile soz. I (22F) was working as a warehouse operative back when I was 19 through an agency. They had openings for recruitment consultants in March 2019 and they offered me an interview followed by giving me the position. Everything went well with this agency apart from having to work a lot of unpaid overtime because I was salaried which sucked, but they justified it by giving us profit share although it didn't cover even 5 hours of overtime monthly.
