My MIL just lost her job as a 4th grade math teacher. Long story short, one student got upset with her, told their parent, their parent complained to the school and she basically got “canceled”. The school told her she needed to go through an extensive counciling program and that the board wouldn't know what to do with her next year and that they didn't trust her. Which obviously if they are gunna treat her like that over something so small that happened, I wouldn't want to work there either.. So she resigned, after 15+ years of teaching and is now having a career crisis (many things have been happening this year this was the tip of the iceberg for her) I don't blame her. She's had nothing but hell since covid with teaching.. she's over it. I want to get her something as a “pick-me-up” preferably something from a…

I recently lost my job as a regional director of sales and marketing due to company restructuring– they dissolved the entire office and sales team I managed and I have since been looking in for a similar sales and marketing role in healthcare. I relocated to a different state due to not being able to afford where I was currently living; and this state has significantly lower COL (for now). I got 2 calls today for 2 different positions (1 account executive role and 1 sales director role) was basically told that they'd welcome me into an interview but they'd struggle to justify hiring me due to not having an existing network of accounts and relationships AND they'd be unable to justify moving the payscale forward from 50-55k. I knew I was going to have to take a paycut due to the relocation factor, but I was making close to…
it’s FRY Day Fry Day
the song for all quiet quitters
So I started a leadership position three weeks ago and a position I was looking at before this role finally called and offered me a job. My dilemma is that they want me to start in one week and I really can’t afford a gap in pay. How do I go about this conversation without looking like a complete asshole?
Hey everyone! I got a new job 4 months ago and it is by far, the most toxic job I've ever had! Everyone hates each other, so they're always screaming and yelling! One of the owners was caught doing illegal drugs at his desk! After my two month mark, I was told that I'm the longest lasting employee in my position, everyone quits after a few days! I've had my fair share of toxic jobs, but this is the worst! So today, the two ladies were screaming at each other once again, and I just couldn't take it anymore. It's a beautiful day out, like 50-60 F, 10 AM and these cuckoo birds are fighting again. I just screamed, “Can we not do this today!” One lady slammed her door and had it closed for the rest of the day (She also ignored me the rest of the day too,…
I work at a hotel and our uniform is the ugliest, most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever worn. The material is almost paper-y, it’s too small in some places and too big in others. I’ve tried sizing up, sizing down, doesn’t make a difference. We just got a new front office manager and she literally shows up in sweats, a sweatshirt, and slippers or Nike’s everyday. I haven’t been wearing my uniform since before Thanksgiving, but my GM just put out a memo that we all need to be in uniform starting next Monday. Is it even worth it to argue? Or should I just suck it up. It makes us look unprofessional to be walking around in clothes that don’t fit and I don’t feel like we should have to be uncomfortable for 8 hours a day while she can essentially show up in pajamas.
