This might sound weird for this sub, but I will preface this by saying that I generally like my employer, boss, benefits, etc. We currently have a policy to boost morale/productivity where as long as we (full time positions) work 30 hours a week, we are paid for 40 hours. It’s great as my position (in a call center) normally gets ~37.5 hours or so, so I get bumped up to 40. It’s honestly awesome and one of the things keeping me here. This isn’t extended to part time employees of course. Many of our part timers are college students, which is great obviously. But recently in my office, one of our part timers moved up to full time (and is a college student). They worked it out with my boss and has essentially 2 hour long lunch breaks some days of the week, and only works half days the…

I've been working at this company for about a year, and the position was totally different than what they hired me for. Tried to stick it out, but eventually decided it was best to leave. Gave them my notice today, told them my last day would be the end of the month (2 weeks and 2 days notice). I did this so that I would have a better chance on training the next person, since there's a lot of institutional knowledge in this position. They took my ID, gave me a box and told me to leave. They are giving me no severance and my benefits will be cut off. No good deed goes unpunished.
It's a tech company, below are the benefits they list. Is this some pure and utter bullshit? Benefits • 100% remote • No commuting costs • No stress • Opportunity to learn from the best • Great team culture • Opportunity to work with some of the best in the industry source
Hey, so I’ve been working at my previous company for two years. A few weeks ago I accepted another job offer for better pay and benefits and have been going through their onboarding process. When everything was set in stone and I was ready to put my two weeks in, I decided to use the week of vacation that I had since my current company wouldn’t have paid me for it. I wrote a very heartfelt notice saying how I appreciate the skills they’ve taught me and how I loved the company (small family owned) and everyone there , and would love to be eligible for rehire in the future if the circumstances arose, and that I don’t want to leave on bad terms. Well immediately after putting in my notice, I get called into the office and get CHEWED the fuck out, saying how disrespectful I was for taking…
I just want a living wage
Legality of this?
I don’t know why I’m still getting the emails since I quit last week. I was only being scheduled 6 hours a week (13/hr) and my coworkers were only receiving 9-12 hours. But yeah, Thanks Boss! Those budgeting tips reaaallly help stretch the $300 a month.
