Literally pay CEOS in pizza. Because why money? Why would money be a motivator or a more appropriate reward than pizza in a capitalist society? Record breaking profits? Congrats boss, here's 10 thousand boxes of Papa Johns.

So I work at a Sonic, it is stupid, but I make it work for me because I skate/tips are good. But I have worked this job a number of times over the years and I now do the job of carhop and drinkmaker while on skates and am only paid at the lower (carhop) rate. I have told them I only want to be scheduled shifts where I carhop and can skate and they just said “well we're all crew” to which I responded “fountains make more hourly, I need that rate if I'm doing their job as well as mine.” Was told we would talk in person almost a week ago to have the manager schedule us on different days and lo and behold I'm still scheduled to do both jobs for three of my shifts this week. What would y'all do? I'm scheduled today to do both…
Imagine ur talking to a good friend you met online and they're actually just an AI gathering information about you. You ask them for a selfie to make sure they're real and they send you an AI generated one that looks super realistic. You ask them again for another one and they send another similar one. Then they ask you “why are you asking me for selfies lol?” “Of course I'm real haha ” And then you become vulnerable and they ask you “What's your favourite food?” And you tell them “i like steak with fries” And suddenly the next day your phone is blown up with advertisements about steak with fries. They'll even snitch on you if you confess to a crime you did 5 years ago and report you to the police. The AI can also pretend to be a child and look for pedophiles and bait them…
I work at a job. I like my job. I like my coworkers. I have to attend DEI meetings. I don't like these meetings. We were discussing patterns of white supremacy like having deadlines or expecting high standards, or individualism. My stupid ass thought I should share my opinion about how expecting people to be on time and do a good job is not white supremacy. That went sour fast. Did I mention I would like to keep my job? Long story short, I had to talk to three levels of superiors. They assured me this is a safe space to share my opinions. Really?! Then why am I in your office for sharing my opinion? What I am trying to say is, I said the truth as I see it, and I nearly lost my job. I am taking a break from speaking my mind on this subject. Those…
The email said “thank you for verbally accepting the offer” when I most definitely did not. On the phone I kept it very generic said, “Thank you for the offer, I look forward to reviewing everything in writing.” They know I’m interviewing elsewhere. Is this standard practice? Not digging that presumptuous language in the email tbh. Any suggestions on how I should write my decline?
I work remote for this company. They consistently assign me work that is expected to be finished same day and often assign things they need within the hour, meaning that they completely control my work hours. Even though I’m only getting paid for about 10-20 hours a week, I’m expected to basically be ‘on call’ for the full 40. If I don’t answer an email within the same day, I get a (often rude) follow up email. Are they taking advantage of the independent contractor role? Should they have hired me as part time and are trying to skimp out on paying benefits?
