Hey everyone I'm hoping for some advice here. I got pretty bad social anxiety. For the past two years, I've largely worked at home due to COVID and it's been a blessing. However, my manager is now forcing everyone back into the office and I'm very reluctant to do so. When I'm amongst other people, I get very uncomfortable. I've told my supervisor this and she sent along a long list of questions asking what accommodations can be made etc. I showed my psychologist the questions and he said he couldn't help as he can't do medical-legal assessments. My GP's note informing work I had this condition was also deemed to be insufficient. I don't understand why I'm being asked back in tbh. I'm getting good performance reviews and, when I'm in the office, I just sit there with massive noise-cancelling headphones on the entire day. Meanwhile, the commute costs…

I work from home and have permission to do so because of my chronic pain. My manager, HR and the top management are aware of this. I complete my responsibilities on time, get work done quickly and efficiently and they acknowledge that. Yet, despite having told them repeatedly how my health is unpredictable and I have flare ups, they continue to ask me to come for work sometimes. They understand when I tell them that it’s difficult, but after a few months they ask me again. I don’t want to explain myself over and over again and want them to understand, but this tends to keep happening. How do I say no respectfully and politely, without having to go into an explanation about my health again? We're in Australia and I'm not exactly legally savvy but I've seen a lot of posts where laws were sourced in the comments so I figured I'd ask. My friend recently got a job as a cleaner with help from their NDIS worker and they're in trouble for taking too many bathroom breaks. They were heavily on their period and had to keep the dam from overflowing. When they asked if they were fired, all their boss said was “I'll call you tomorrow”. They're freaking out and I'm thinking 'surely he can't fire them over this?' I really hope I'm right but is there anything they could do legally if they are fired? Even if they're not, what kind of professional jargon do you use when talking about a period? I've already suggested they ring their NDIS advocate first thing tomorrow to get advice from there but I want to…

So yea. I may have been very unlucky here. I’m very private at work but her sister apparently told somebody and the last couple of days I’ve gotten a lot of remarks about it. It’s not that I feel harassed but it makes me even more uncomfortable at work then I was before. The most embarrassing thing is that my thing (D) didn’t work. I don’t know how much they know, but it’s like it’s mandatory to be unprofessional here. I mean fuck I was already awkward enough to begin with this just makes my situation 10x worse.

So i just start working in a apple repair certified store where i do reception,repairs and logistic during the interview they told me that i would have to take apple e-learning ATLAS course and they made it clear that it was to do it at home outside of work hours not even between two clients and non remunerated and you have to take at least one every three days but on the work contract nothing of that is mention. Do you think it is even legal to do that ? and on a work ethic standpoint i think it is absolutely bullshit but maybe i am completely delusional. i would love to read your opinion about that and share your own experiences 🙂
